Hindu's sacred cows vs JWs

I was watching the Discovery channel the other day and they pictured the "sacred" or "holy" cows that wander around the Hindu's land.

I thought about how many generations have held that belief and wondered if there are any younger generations that question the validity of that belief? Do you think there are any rebels? Any independant thinkers that see a cheeseburger rather than holiness?

The idea of the cow being sacred seems irrational to most of us. We look at them and think that whole idea is ridiculous.

If JWs only could look at some of their own beliefs and realize how absurd they really were. Strip away all the spirituality and holiness from some of the beliefs and get down to pure common sense and face that there is nothing evil about birthdays, nothing sinister about celebrating holidays, etc. Realize that a cow is just a cow.

Of course they are. But it is a bit different though. It is not only religion, it is religion and culture mixed. There are lots of modern people (mostly in the cities) who do not give a damn about the cows, but then they probably respect the culture,a nd make no big issue of it. But look at what indian people eat when not in india. Indian restaurants worldwide mostly serve beef. Danny
