... the WTBTS with last forever. ``UN scandal; what's all the fuss?"..... ````higher powers? .. who cares?" ; ``who says they changed the bloom-ban policy?"

How a decent, fairly intelligent woman and can stand and applaud the latest Timothy anti-higher education drama on Sunday and then happily go the the bank on Monday morning and deposit a portion of her paycheck into our grandson's college education fund, is a greater mystrery to me than the Trinity.

"So what if they change the "truth" from time to time. Who cares??? It's no big deal."

Ok, if it is OK for them to change "truth" why are you not allowed to decide what "truth" is on your own? What do they have that you don't?

Very sad... these people just don't see the contradiction.

The point is that many people are doing exactly what this lady is doing. Ignoring WTBTS counsel - and doing what they want anyway. So this is a good thing long term

often the happiest witnesses are the ones who don't think too deeply about the WT teachings. They like the friends, the meetings etc, but don't get too worried about the details. My wife is a "good" witnes but if she'd been raised a Catholic, I guarantee, she would be a "good" catholic. It's a comfort zone thing...

The "My religion right or wrong" mentality even exists within the witnesses.

Good points, I find that JWs don't listen to "counsel" unless it becomes a DFing offense.

For years, the WTS said smoking was not for JWs but until they made it a DFing offense in 1973 and set a deadline of the end of the year, theny and only they did you many JWs finally try and quit, not because of any scriptural wrongness they perceived, but because now they would be DF'd for it.

It think some just settle in and don't think much about whether it's really the "truth" or not. They made their decision once (or were raised in it) and that's that. The WTS has a direct pipeline to Jesus and Jehovah; changes are good, it shows that the "light is getting brighter"; the UN thing was just for research; pedophiles are evil..but the situation in the organization was caused by bad individuals infuenced by Satan; if there are problems with elders or others in the congregation, don't worry about it, just wait on Jah; if anybody has a criticism of the religion, don't go looking into it or anything, it can all be explained away by using the persecution by Satan card; it's good that Armeggedon hasn't come yet, so many more people can be brought in and saved now. *sigh*

There are some very sweet, kind, genuinely nice people who never think a bad thought about anybody, no matter how they are treated, and can rationalized away any problems or difficulties with their beloved "Truth".

I think it's sweet that your wife donates to your grandson's college fund. LOL Somehow she's able to root for the no-education pioneer kids, but can also see the importance of getting an education.

    G'day Roomie,

We've been together a few years now and we've seen strange things happen. From my own experience, i can say be patient, don't give up hope. Have faith that it will happen. She'll see "the light". It makes the present exasperations bearable.

    remember...it will happen.

    Cheers, Ozzie
