That's right, some of the local JWs claim they are being persecuted by the city.
The big bad old government is ripping up the main drag where the local KH is situated to make way for extra lanes and a median on the road. Even the KH landscaping was ripped up and the road allowance was taken over by the government to build this new bit of road. In fact, the construction is occurring for at least 5 kilometers in either direction from the KH, but all good JWs know that they have been singled out for government persecution because the main entry to the KH parking lot has been blocked off by the construction.
Never mind that there is another "back way" entrance to the parking lot. Never mind that the KH does not pay property taxes but will benefit from the new road and sidewalk that is being put in at the main road entrance. They still feel persecuted because people driving by the KH will be unable to show up at a meeting out of sheer curiosity. (Like that's ever happened around here ) And JWs will have to make a right turn 100 feet away and go around the corner at the lights and drive another 50 or so feet in order to access the alternate parking entrance. OH FOR SHAME! How will they ever survive?? Will this become a featured experience in a future issue of the Awake! magazine, right next to the experience of the faithful brothers who trudge three days through the desert to attend a district convention?
