I'm a "Genius", said the brothers

  I remember when I started studying with the witnesses back in 1987, two brothers sitting at a table in a restaurant during morning field service break told me that I was a genious. I asked them why they would say such a thing?

  They said, "because you were able to see what others didn't see"...

  What they were refering to was that I, like every other witness, found the truth, where as the vast majority of people were lost in false beliefs and in the wrong religion.

  I was just starting out as a dub, so they were encouraging me with nice words.

  Well, I guess that there are many geniuses here, since many found their way out of the Watchtower...

  Bloody ell, its a different world...

  I used to think the pioneers that took it in turn to have a flask of coffee and biscuits in their cat boot was a luxury (only for the honoured few who had stayed out longer than 4 hours in the morning), and the saturday morning arrangement in Southampton where we used to take it in turns to buy everyone a bun from the bakers on the way home from 3 hours street witnessing was positively grand! (I always used to have an iced apple donut - yummy)

  We had a break every time we went out in the field service, and yes at the restaurant for half an hour each time...lol

  Well, you went deeper than me into this religion, so I guess you needed more energy than me to get out of it.

  JWs must think I am as thick as two short planks, because from day one I have been an opposer.

  I had read CofC and ISoCF before meeting any JW other than my newbie pre-baptism JW friends. Those 2 books must have removed my brain. Doh!

  I remember virtually an Entire congregation heading to a local Coney Island, getting a full course breakfast meal and lingering for nearly an hour!!!

  I think, if I'm not mistaken there were those that actually Counted the time! Saying it was a Silent Witness!!!

  Seriously.

  On the other hand, at a completely different cong. They took turns getting out for bath and went through drive through's for coffee and brought their own snacks/lunches.

  Shheeeesh. Always the extreme with them peoples.
