Jehovah has always had a specific date set for when Judgement will be passed.

Witnesses often ask at conventions: How many of you learned the truth just in the last year, 5 years etc? Aren't you glad the end didn't come before? But in that same time, circumstances cause people to leave the witnesses who would have been judged differently 5 years before.

Do our heart conditions actually change? Was I once a good hearted person and am now a bad hearted person or was I always bad or am I still good?

For the judgement to be fair, shouldn't we all be judged under exactly the same circumstances.

Joelbear - I always thought of it this way -

Brother X, been in the JWs since birth, raised in it, been to Bethel, now an elder and pioneer, devoted his life to Jehovah. Raised his 4 children in the religion, they too are all zealous. Brother X has been instrumental in bringing 52 people into the 'truth'. Then one day Brother X experiences problems with an aspect of the religion, decides he can no longer continue and disassociates...........

Then we have Brother Y, just got baptized, knew nothing about the JWs until 6 months ago when he started a bible study. Maybe does a few hours a month in field service, hasn't got any return visits........

Now, Jehovah decides to bring about the great tribulation and Armageddon. And where do these two brothers find themselves?? The JWs believe that God would put more value on Brother Y because he is in the organisation yet look at the history of Brother X..... So up goes Brother X in a cloud of smoke and Brother Y gets an eternity in Paradise. Does this seem fair to you?

    Indi,

    Yes, that is my point.

Some would point out that the Bible says, he that endures to the end is the one that will be saved, but the point is that the end is an arbitrarily established date, so when the end comes would dictate who endured and who didn't.

Again, using your example. A person just becoming a witness now would have to endure years less persecution and hardship than someone who was a witness for 50 years. Yet, they both are rewarded the same for passing the test.
