Most of us know the situation that Quotes is in. The Watchtower is suing him for using their quotes in context, and giving credit to them as a source.
Now, how does the Watchtower quote other sources? It takes the quote out of context and often doesn't give credit to the author.
Why don't we start finding these quotes that the Watchtower has used from "some guy", and alerting the authors of their quotes being used without proper credit, and being taken out of context?

Good idea. If I still read the litterature, I'd be glad to do just that.
I think a few people have done just that already. Particularly with the Creation book; I think AlanF did a major exposé of all the misquotes and out of context references and informed at least a couple of the authors.
Even if the authors do not want to take legal action against them, Can Quotes use this in his defence?
You can't justify a wrong with another (although Quotes did handle his quoting in the proper manner)
But legally, can this somehow help him and his counselors in court?
I do not know the particularities of Canada’s legal system, but if they use a jury, this can be influential on their decision…
Even having one of such authors as a witness.
Can someone with legal background advice?
No need to get the lawyers involved. Simply run a campaign to inform the authors of infringement of copyright. Provide the address of WT legal, Canada for them to register their complaints. Let the protests trickle or flood in however it would work out.
Wouldn't help Quotes directly, but it sure would be a pain for the WTBTS.
I sincerely hope that the Watchtower machine does not succeed in taking down quotes.watchtower.ca. This is a invaluable resource for anyone who wants to see what the organization has actually put into print. In fact, I think it was at that site that I first saw proof that the Watchtower in deed DID claim to be speaking in God's name when they made all of their false prophesies. As much as the Witnesses hate to admit it, their own past statements prove how self-assuming and self-absorbed they truly have been. And as much as they claim that Deuteronomy 18:20-22 doesn't apply to them, a website like QUOTES that shows what they have ACTUALLY SAID is the only current means available for the average person to reach a conclusion in the matter. Of course the Society wants it shut down.
I am hoping that quotes gives them hell. and I think if the wts wins, quotes can reinvent himself I am sure of it. His site has been a real help to so many and i for one really appreciates his tremendous work. I think the wts will lose .

Fortunately Canada also has freedom of speech and press. I do believe the WTS climbing up the back side of the sewer to find a way out of this mess. They don't have a chance. Quotes lawyers would gladly take this case "Pro Bono" just to shove it up their asses.
