Bad dreams in the night.
They told me I was going to lose the fight,
Leave behind my wuthering, wuthering
Wuthering Heights.
So sang Kate Bush!
Occassionally, I have nightmares - generally about being on a sinking ship or being lost in the desert, that sort of thing. Suprising really, as my life is pretty safe most of the time.
Sometimes, I have nightmares about leaving the truth! Is this normal???

Dreams.
Go figure.
I sometimes think dreams are the overflow of subconscious thought during the day. I think we have thoughts we deal with and thoughts we dont deal with running in the background of our minds during the day.
These latter ones are the ones that surface in the night...the fears, the issues, we dont verbalize.
I have had no bad dreams since coming on this board......now three months.
But last night I had a doozy.
Dreams about the truth are not unlike other dreams. Your mind may pretend to have done the deed and be feeling it out, exploring what it would be like; the repercussions, the shunning, the freedom.
But dreams are not fully dimensional and cannot fully prepare you for all the day time balance of thoughts that play into our decision making process.
But dreams can be helpful to a limited degree. They allow us at night to see a situation from another point of view other that our restricted day time thinking. -

I had a whole bunch of stuff typed out for you, but realized it would be more helpful to refer you to the book "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming" by Stephen Laberge. It is useful to anyone who has regular nightmares, or simply wants to know more about this fascinating science.
From my own experience, what you are going through is quite familiar. Why do you think you dream of being on a sinking ship or lost in the desert?
