SHOULD JWS STUDY THE SHARE OWNERSHIP OF COMPANIES?

Recently the COE has been embroiled in a row about the fact that one of its the companies it has invested in is partly owned by a company that makes arms.

Should a TRUE CHRISTIAN(TM) investigate a company background so he doesn't violate CHRISTIAN NEUTRALITY?

Why bother if "mother" isn't? But most JW's don't know that "mother" isn't, so they will.

Years ago, when the WTS banned smoking, they went a step further and demanded that if you were a Witness, you could no longer sell cigarettes in your store (if you had one), or grow tobacco. You could be disfellowshipped if you did not comply. While no one hates cigarettes more than me, I find it more than a tad hypocritical that brothers and sisters can't sell these items, but the WTS can be a stockholder in a company like Phillip Morris or a company that makes weapons for war. It's kinda like when they tell the R&F not to buy a home, property or invest in your future as though "Armageddon was still several years away" (oh ye of little faith), but it's perfectly okay for them to continue to invest their money in stocks, buy property, and continue to build and expand...........

I think a good JW who follows their teachings should definitely check into such things before getting involved. Seems clear to me from their "counsel" and also from the times (several) that I've been interrogated about my business dealings.
Had I known the types of things the WTBTS was involved in when I sat through those back room meetings, I'd have been really pissed.
