Does anyone know how to make a web page, one that I can use to sell my house on? We are trying to sell it by ourselves!

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I've made several web pages, using Microsoft FrontPage software. It's a bit pricey.

However, once you upload it to the internet (montly fees for me, since people can order products from mine) it takes up to a year for the search engines to find it. The other option is to just advertise the web address.

I know there are several free websites out there too. Earthlink offers a free one if you have email with them. I think AOL also has one.

Probably not a good idea. I make web pages but like I tell all my clients - if you can't tell me how your clients are going to know about your page than its unlikely they will ever find it (ie marketing is far more important than the web page itself). Another solution is to post a newspaper advert in the local newspaper , put up your own for sale board and hand out flyers outside of estate agents (realtors?) to anyone who goes in and finally put your home up on ebay. Your more likely to reach your target audience that way than by website - the internet is very poor at selling single items on a single site. Only large marketplaces (like ebay) have real success at it.

Thanks so much guys! What we wanted to do was make a page and then when we put it in the paper for three Saturdays we wanted to have a web page that they could go to as well. We did put it on 2 'For Sale By Owner' sites, so if all else fails we can link them to that!

Weinermcgee...I am your neighbor!!!! We live on P.E.I! You are the first New Foundlander that I have seen on here, So a big WELCOME to you!

I don't think this is going to have the desired results. Advertise the house directly. A website, even with being advertised traditionally, will reach only a small audience.

    Hi

There are 2 good free web site services: 50megs.com and freeservers.com. It comes with a free web site software that is eeeeeazy to use. Like the others said tho, use it as an adjunct to advertizing because it will not reach many people unless you're directing them to it in an ad.

Do you have Yahoo real estate up there. I have been looking at property there and have found it to be quite informative. I have got good results just by sticking a sign out in front. Target marketing in its most basic form. Sorry I can't help with any webpage info. All I can do is stare at them.

When you get your web page URL, it will probably be kind of long. You can use a URL-shortening service to come up with a smaller, easier-to-remember version. I just checked around and found http://notlong.com Seems to work. They let me set up one for http://thebentinel.com/jw-birthdays.html Now I could send people to http://birthdays.notlong.com instead

Not a huge saver in space, but easier to remember. Especially if your URL turns out like http://50megs.com/username/123hgfttruuu/67.html or some other monster like that.

    Good luck!

    Dave
