I heard of them before, because I was searching on the livejournal.com site for people who were interested in the Watchtower (curious to see if JWs had livejournals or blogs... actually, a surprising amount do! so much for staying away from the internet)... but anyway, a bunch of times I would get people that listed "watchtower" as an interest, and it turned out to be that they were interested in this band, not the Watchtower Society. Is the name just a coincidence? Does anyone know?
I tried to play the music clips but can't on this computer. Did anyone listen to the lyrics and were they jw related? It's just strange they've got songs about control, resistance, and reason.
Well the music clips are short, shrill, and the lyrics are difficult to decipher. I don’t really care for it. IMHO it kind of sound like nails across the chalkboard and is much too difficult to listen to long enough to try to understand the singer.
I don't know about this group...but years ago, there were some musicians who at least studdied with jws. My x met a number of them. For example, "Fang" from Paul Revere & the Raiders became a JW. He started his own group " The Great Crowd". I don't think they ever went anywhere... although, they did play at the Disneyland once... we went to hear them...
Jack Daugherty, who discovered Karen Carpenter was in our congregation. According to my x she studied with the dubs. Jack had a Jazz album of his own.

I've heard of them, but for some reason never thought that their name had anything to do with the WTBS, but I know we had a copy of an old EP or album they released at work, when I get in tonight, I'll have a look see if I can find anything on the inserts referencing the Organisation.
Karen Carpenter? OMG--now I've heard everything. That is so sad.
Hi Rebel8....Karen didn't become a jw, but according to my x, she and her brother, Richard, studied.
