Think of The Moody Blues song Melancholy Man. Depressed Man just doesn't sound as poetic. And Abraham Lincoln didn't suffer from depression. He suffered from melancholy.

Somehow, this was posted under relationships. There's probably a better place for it.
I like this thread:
Can it be one word for two or more? For example:
Drama Queen
to
expressive
------------------------------------------------------
or: When people argue and argue a point thinking they have won...
Maybe the other person thinks they are stupid and not worth a response...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lets try:
Touchy
replaced with:
Hightened observation skills
I like those, Sparkplug. Yes, you can exchange words for phrases and vice versa. And it's great when you take a negative like Drama Queen and turn it into a positive word like Expressive. Our world has so little tolerance for human emotion anymore. Very good first addition to the thread.

I have noticed this a lot lately.
I have also noted a trend in people lately doing things such as when you say good morning, flying high and haveing a great one...they immediately comment negative on your dress, makeup, wording. Like they are trying to steal your joy first thing in the AM..
Ok, here is another:
(I saw it on another thread here)

Here's my next one:

Like they are trying to steal your joy first thing in the AM..See that smile on my avatar? Everyone gets that from me, no matter how sour they are. If they say something like what you posted to me, I get a look of genuine empathy on my face and ask them if they are having a bad day or don't feel well. A lot of the time they are. I've broken through a lot of shells. I work in sales by the way.
aah- See I have the smiling without flinching down, I just have not taken the steps each time to turn the tables. Great idea!
