Well, If I was the person that lived in the red house in the background, I'd be pissed that there's going to be a building built on what was probably a nice piece of open land.

Mixed feelings, really. Part of me feels sick to my stomach, most of me feels distantly connected, like a person that you once had an emotional relationship with and have now grown apart from.

Looks to me like King Jehober is laying down on the job.

Other than that it brings up old, not so nice memories of working with my X husband, mixing cement in the mixer, keeping the mud boards full and carring block, keeping it all stocked up. Cutting steel, grouting ahhhh my back aches just thinking abou it.

Yep glad those days are gone along with the quick builds......

Makes me feel like calling a OSHA inspector and checking for Union Dues receipts.

Wonderful. They tore down the JW shack next door, (notice the sign) and are putting up a new convenience store!!

I helped build our old hall when I was 6 or 7 years old. Not a quick build. It seemed like it took forever. I remember going with my dad, when it was just us alone. Wading in mud, picking up wood scraps. I was there very often. When it was finally built, it still lacked a parking lot, and access road. After the meeting, the brothers, including my dad, in their suits and dress shoes, would push out cars, stuck in the mud.

Looking back at it, it was only a cement block rectangle hall, with tile floor. It did have windows back then. Last time I saw it was 20 years ago, and the windows were blocked up. HL

So the kingdom hall sign appears to be broken, so I guess they tore down a kingdom hall and are now constructing a Tim Hortons.

    Appropriate.
