i was at the jws for jesus convention yesterday, even though i don't subscribe to their religion, & there are many other topics discussed.

two different speakers said that signs work!

they have experimented with advertising in papers & opening a phone line, but they are getting the most interest from non-confrontational, thought provoking signs posted around town.

was there ever a refutation written up on this brochure?

i'm looking for something that examines all the sources and the credibility of the people they quote to supplement my research on this topic.

One must remember these Jws are just lost. Thats it. Their not bad people. The Org is bad. Ive found studying with them builds my faith, same with the LDS. They way Jws spin things are at times laughable.

Bottom line they have exchanged the truth for a lie.

Oct 15th WT View of The Third Heaven--What a Scream!

ok, we all know the scripture where paul says "...i know a man in union with christ who, 14 years ago, was caught away to the third heaven.....whether in the body or apart from the body i do not know...he was caught away into paradise and heard unutterable words which it is not lawful or a man to speak.

according to the october 15th watchtower, you wanna know what exactly this means?

paragraph 9 says "....it would involve the christian congregation......when was that vision to be fulfilled?

I dont understand your question. If your saying Adam had no other reaction to life than to be righteous is pure spectulation. Hence, good does not equal righteous.

I would say " how is it possible for Adam to display any other actions than righteousness if he had a clean slate" but that doesnt wash either because your making good equal to righteous.

I think you want to give Adam this great start in life without realizing he was just a innocent man, further the bible does not state he was perfect. Remember that teaching from the org. I ran this by my mom and she took the bait instantly. "Oh yes' she said, he was perfect thats why he lived so long"

I said show me in scripture where it states he was perfect? All she had was "it was very good" Yes but good is not perfect. And neither is good righteous.

If the bible had stated "he was created perfect" then I would lean towards Adams righteousness, but even thats problematic. How does a perfect man sin?

Why did God not create Adam and Eve at the same time? Genesis 2:18 says (my apologies for using he NWT... ):

Apparently Gen Chapter 2 (seventh day) deals with their story and not a chronological order of creation.

At what point did it all become good? At what point did God become perfect in his judgement? If Eve was a complement, Adam was surely not considered to be whole before Eve was created.

Again Gen 1:27. Everthing God does is righteous and good.

Good point!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have you noticed that they really don't like to answer OUR questions yet they will debate forever about their own interpretations of what was REALLY meant when the Bible said yadda yadda.

In my very humble opinion........... oh who the hell am I pretending to be....... I have seen enough bullsh*t in my life by Christians (and not just JW's) that I have a very hard time accepting it as being the WAY to happiness/god/salvation.

Show me a Christian who says they have it right and I'll show you a liar.

As the "topic" says, I feel free to choose god as I see him to be. My perception of him works for me. If my opinion works for anybody else, then great, but I refuse to have any followers. I wouldn't feel right about people following me...... bad things happen when people follow.

How do you see(perceive) the God you have choosen?

LT..... In the case of Adam there was righteousness and law, for as long as that law wasn't transgressed. If there had been no law at all, he could have eaten what he wanted with no sin imputed at all.
I will agree with your statement as it refers to fallen mankind, just not to Adam in a state of innocence.

Do you think A&E would have partook of the fruit if God kept silient about the tree? (I would say no because theres no intrest)

Romans 5:13
for until the Law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

So could Adam be righteous under the law "not to touch the tree" since the law was to manifest sin.

You cant have it both ways. Either theres law with no righteousness, or theres righteousness with no law. You pick.

Question:
Is God righteous?

Theres no question

Definitely not, especially in our own case, and in regards to the Mosaic law which Paul speaks of.
The only one who "imparts righteousness" is God, and it's Christ's righteousness that is imparted.

Just to clarify, I said no such thing.
I said that righteousness if not "imparted" (nor imputed) by law. THere's a big difference between taht and what you're now stating.

I think you stated exactly what I quoted you stating.
