My thank you's are not enough either. But, thank you so much for making them as they are now a part of history that is accessible to many and can't be twisted as a written word can. I thought the entire process of live streaming was absolutely perfect. -

regarding Jacksons testimony.
by umbertoecho inhas anyone here re-watched that last day?
the part where justice mcclellan is asking mr jackson if he feels that this royal commission is a sincere effort to make some good changes in policy...?.
and does mr jackson feel it would be worth it to put a collective effort, along with other organizations to compensate or find means of redress, for the victims of child sexual abuse?.

Have a look and see what response is elicited by such questions directed at GB member Jackson.
For......Jackson could hardly say no could he? He could only say they would consider it at the very least. Then he was up against a wall and had to more or less agree that it would more than consider it......this "working alongside other organizations (and religions) to make reparation.
Those were not empty little questions people. They were perfectly prepared questions, which at the time seemed to me to be naive..Then I realised due to my emotions I had missed the point.
This was a part of the sworn testimony by a GB member, who is in control of millions of lives.....
Have a look at Angus Stewart as well. Look at how, whilst Jackson is giving his homily to the world,............Angus Stewart turns his back to him and searches documents...........Mr GB representative for God on earth, full of holy something.................Loses his concentration!!!!
How dare Stewart turn his back!! The nerve of this little upstart for not respecting him...!!
Jackson is so unravelled that he asks if they can hear him or even see him.........Of course they can hear and see him. It's just that they don't care about his status. They, the people of the RC are caring about the victims, not some well turned out executive with a gleaming superior attitude that is interchanged with sycophantic, pandering to the "superior authorities" approach.
Jackson is not used to treatment. He is not used to the casual approach of Angus, indeed, if Angus was a baptised witness.., he would take him to task for insubordination at the very next meeting.
Ah!! But he can't. Because Angus Rhodes Scholar Stewart, is not in awe and never could be in awe of such man swollen with pride and sitting, hand superstitiously clutching the Silver something as he gibbers sympathetic nothings to the RC. Angus is not impressed, Justice McClellan is sick of hearing about Jackson sick father, the woman lawyer is not intimidated........no one is. And that is the point. There are no lowly beings in this room. Those who have played God are the ones who stand to lose so much.................status.

GEOFFREY JACKSON THE PERSONABLE FACE OF JW.ORG...BUT IT AIN'T OVER YET BUDDY
by steve2 insince geoffrey jackson's appearance before the australian royal commission on friday there has for some been an expressed feeling of anticlimax.
it is as though he was given too much latitude to preach, to claim ignorance and to skirt questions.
more to the point, as much as i myself thought i would never have expected to say this, gj actually came across as likeable and - don't throttle me please!

Angus Stewart in acting so nonchalantly was perfect to the task at hand. Someone in a prior post noticed this as well.....just getting the name it is "username" who also spotted it.
Mr Jackson is used to a publicly adoring audience. In this part of the hearing, he was just another person. That Angus had his back to Jackson at one stage when GBJackson was speaking, caused Jackson to falter. For, Jackson is not used to such casual and "at ease" body language.
Angus was often ahead of him regarding where to find scripture and Justice McClellan was as easy in his insistence that questions be answered. They, as a team were very comfortable in reviewing this entire religious policy. Go have another look at the video and see for yourself. Mr Jackson was not in control, the way he is used to being in control......

Did you hear Stewart use the bible to prove an incredibly good point to Jackson!!
by umbertoecho ini thought at the end, stewart made brilliant use of scripture (about establishing fornication or other sexually immoral practises) how, in such a clever way stewart used scripture to point out that some one could basically stake out someone's house to see if a person stayed over night be they homosexual or heterosexual............that on the basis of a sort of stakeout, the two witness rule was ambivalent yet it prevailed.
due to sufficient suspicion.. and therefore why did this "suspicion" not prevail with child sexual abuse.

Perhaps Angus, in getting his various law degree's had had some training in philosophy which includes debating on a public platform. He has a strong team of researchers who would have been tireless in digging through mountains of WT specific beliefs and then reading and processing them order to "own" the knowledge, which in turn allows for an informed discussion using that knowledge.
In law degree's Philosophy is often one of the most useful tools a decent barrister or Lawyer will embrace. For, in order to present one's argument, you are obliged to know the subject fairly well. So he knew his subject matter well......

The Royal Commission and Watchtower - A game changer
by Hidden-Window ini had finished watching all the videos on the royal commission's investigation of jehovah's witnesses (yes, i know more videos are being released).
i am still processing the information of everything that has emerged.
i do not plan to cover it all here, but i would like to point out that it is patently obvious that some of the wt representatives provided misleading information.

The city overseer once cautioned the congregation about spanking their children in the parking lot for fear that a neighbor would call child protective services. Better to do it in your car!
Also, Stewart was paving the way for further observations by using the premise that "literal rods" and "beatings" are not the norm for our Western societies anymore. That this rod, is no longer a literal application, for time has passed and we have evolved....
He was creating an area of thought whereby it could be plainly shown that JWs no longer subscribe to this literal rod thing. Therefore............times had changed and therefore it was not a quantum leap of thought to do away with other draconian rules that the society holds to.......This is why the topic was established.

Interview with Zimbabwe's Minister of Tourism at JW HQ
by OrphanCrow inzimbabwe has been under the rule of a dictator since 1980. robert mugabe, the president of zimbabwe, is notorious for his ruthless ways of dealing with the problems of a post-colonial country.
his land reforms resulted in much economic hardship for the people of zimbabwe and anyone who was a white farmer in zimbabwe suffered dire consequences as a result of mugabe's land grabs post-2000.
the atrocities against the people of zimbabwe have been documented by cathy buckle and i have personally heard of the violence against those opposed to mugawbe's policies.. some comments from a 2003 article about robert mugabe:.

Wow Crow!!
Thanks for that information. Posts like this amaze me at the the complete lack of knowledge the average JW has about it's own religion. It is highly suspect that they, the witnesses would tout this man by means of "tourism". For that is what they are doing. Then again, they are simply fulfilling the command to preach to all the inhabited earth.
Next someone will be telling me that North Korean leader Kim il um sing jongy thing aiilll (whatever the hell his name is) ..... Is a really good guy and has Jehovah's Witnesses working for him because they are so good at "not knowing what is going on".

They had plenty of exJWs on board. There was no problem with gaining inside information..........those little things that only a JW knows or knew about WTBTS method of teaching and handling of complaints, DF ing and so on. They had some pretty good people with well educated back grounds who could assist them.
And yes; it was frustrating listening to Jackson try to minimise his/their role. But they were not ever fooled. The RC had known of his being in Australia from the time he arrived. They choose when to act or when it's better to see how things pan out.
Then again, they had commenced gaining understanding and dealing with this particular issue since they announced the RC back in 2013.
That's what I trust about the RC, for it shows a thorough and methodical approach. To actually compel Jackson to answer up was a good thing as he and his words are now "captive.".......to loosely quote Angus Stewart.
