  Phone call straight after the Royal Commission

  straight after the commission ended today within minutes, the phone rang.

  it was one of the people who are working on it.

  firstly she established if i was alright and did i want to talk.. i said i was too tired and unhappy that geoffrey jackson managed to do some preaching....she said they were aware of that.

  Dear Villlage Idiot. The Royal Commission hasn't stopped. That is the point I was trying to make. I understand that the "public" face of it may have. I do think that others here have mentioned that this actually started in 2013. The livestream was just one aspect of it, for ...........I don't know, perhaps the need for a public audience to feel they had "access" and were not cut out of proceedings.

  The commission goes from state to state, from person to person........This is funded for an extra two years. Try not to feel frustrated, as this is when we all make mistakes. I know I have made many in the past. Just quietly, quietly follow events when you feel inclined. And take heart in the fact that "all that was said" is transcribed. And that is that!! No one can say.........." I didn't say that!? For there it all is, on the RC website.

  Something that's bugging me. Why didn't the ARC ask Jackson..

  also, whether they would consider using 'worldly' expertise when assessing potential risk?.

  why was spinks questioned as to whether the organisation should use professionals to assess whether a pedophile is fit to rejoin the jw community (or whether they are still a danger), let alone be reappointed.. and yet jackson, one of the policy makers in the org, was not even spoken to about pedophiles being judged as 'repentant' and even safe to be reappointed, by incompetent elders??.

  The point was that the RC wanted to establish the power base of WTBTS even when operating within Australia. It was very important to see how the questions asked would be answered or deflected by Jackson. He was so dishonest, it was very evident that he was dodging and doing his best to pander....No one liked it and no one thought his "I'm so glad you asked that question......" crap was worth a fart in the wind. He was a sycophantic asshole........

  I was reassured that they, the staff were not misled. They would not have phoned if it was not important to reassure those who had come forward. I am one of so many who came forward but were afraid to speak...........Now the facts are out there for investigation. I don't know what the outcome will be. I do know that the boil has been lanced though.

  I doubt that very much. The Royal Commission had been misled deliberately by various elders and no doubt the WT lawyers.........When it was discovered how much authority the GB has, then there was no excuse left not to bring him in....Justice McClellan was visibly annoyed as was Angus Stewart. People had phoned, emailed............everything was done to make sure that the RC did not fall for the ruse........In the end, there was little time to thoroughly interrogate the bastard.

  Royal Commission does not make back stage deals........too many with too much information and a serious issues at stake.

  it was good to put a voice to the guy on jw facts.

  "I can see it was painful for you as you were telling me this"

  Dumplin, that was the strong impression I had. Although he had been brave, he was still a victim of the shunning and had built his life up, despite this ostracism. No one could see his face and his voice was measured. I felt the woman conducting the interview was wise to let the listening audience know that this was "hard" on him. She was smart to say what she said and without being condescending in any way......

  with all the talk about the org's policies and failures regarding child sexual abuse being publically exposed in australia, i thought that it may be a good time to highlight this... i apologise if this has already been discussed, but on the 9th of july the independent inquiry into child sexual abuse in england and wales was opened.

  here is some information regarding it's aims.. "about the inquiry.

  the inquiry offers an unprecedented opportunity to examine the extent to which institutions and organisations in england and wales have taken seriously their responsibility to protect children.. the inquiry will investigate a wide range of institutions including:.

They will gather information as I as was born there and my family were baptised there.......You never know what may come out of such things.....I just want change, complete apologies, redress for all victims and less power to do the damage they have done....

  i'm not the first to notice what i'm about to point out and comment accordingly, but today i felt compelled to add a short article on my blog highlighting the new language that governing body member geoffrey jackson supplies as a response.

  But. The RC had been given some excellent documents, magazines, letters, books and were aware of the lie...........They really were not fooled. They just let him lie. Now, I wonder why they did that.

  I think that fact that it is on record the slippery Mr Jackson will have to address this in the future. Not sure how, but I am sure he will, they will. Bullshit has a way of flying back in ones face..........

  An excellent interview, with patches of "pain" that could still be heard. Yet he prevailed due to some inner core of faith within his own core........... Faith, in his own capacity to live and thrive inspite of what he knew was to come after being disfellowshipped was a strong and wonderful aspect of this man's character.

  The religion of Jehovah's Witnesses does not promote "faith in oneself". Perhaps I am wrong in thinking this, but it just occurred to me as I listened to him that we were always taught to have faith in "men" who represented God. Never to trust our selves to do the right thing, think the right thing..........This was a good interview.

  anyways, i was wondering if the kingdom hall reno/upgrade scam is going on in australia as well?

  the hall where i live apparently needs a complete gut and redo (admittedly the decor was horrid).

  I wonder why all the large assemblies have been cancelled this year then. I have been told that the venues are too expensive to rent. This is a first for me having been associated on and off for decades.

  Now there will be lots of small conventions held at the larger properties. My family told me this with looks of great sorrow......very odd.

  I have my British passport still and permanent residency in Australia. I do hope this helps in some small way.
