i noticed that in paragraph 13 they mention the girl sheryl that i believe was the same girl that was in their video about the typhoon that hit the philippines back in 2013. they talk as if she's so happy and thankful to jehovah even mention that she lost most of her family in that typhoon.

what they don't mention was her family members that were killed in that typhoon were inside a kh thinking they were going to be protected by jehovah since they were in gods house and his people and all.

they also fail to mention that the government authorities were telling people to get out of town but the elders were most likely telling the people in their congregations to stick around and just come to the hall.

Look, if Jehovah was really blessing these people...

1. The sister would be in a happy marriage with her elder husband until now. Or even if her husband dumped her, she would be blessed with a BETTER husband. But... nooooooo... she is a poor single mother now which no brother wants

2. The sister who pioneered for more than 20 years would be rewarded with good health and live a long and fruitful life with her husband, surrounded by many spiritual children. But... nooooooo... she was blessed with... CANCER!!!

How about the regular pioneer sister married to an elder who proved unfaithful then abandoned her & their children? (par. 10) They twisted the story to make it sound like she was BLESSED by Jehovah!!!

Adding on to what Smiddy said, it's totally mind-boggling as to how shallow Bible knowledge is among old timers. These are people who supposedly spent decades or even their entire lives studying the Bible, and what do they have to show for it in the end? NOTHING! Their Bible "knowledge" consists of the same old list of well-known scriptures which are usually taken out of context then twisted & misapplied. They don't even know how to explain & defend basic organizational doctrines which are fundamental to their beliefs! Ask them about 1914 or the overlapping generation & watch them squirm!

How many of you still believe in God or are still Christians?

hello, i asked a new but old friend how many people are still christians after leaving the watchtower's mind control agency, for statistical purposes do you mind if i do a survey and see how many of you are believers?.

please don't post if your not a believer out of respect for this poll, we need to sharpen each other's sword and help build each other up and meet new friends over the internet with faith in god or some other force of the universe.

i asked another person how we can still manage our faith after getting burned by the high group mind control, he had a few ideas but he's not really involved with god because of how life burned him.

"Lets imitate faithful Lot of old...."

i know we have all discussed at length the account / story of lot.... another thought occurred to me today...lets analyse his real personality,.

in the very beginning of the account, lot is shown to be a selfish man...one that chose the better land and area..... then he was opportunistic and materialistic and kept living in a nice city, even though he was supposedly shocked by the immorality and lawlessness..... then we see him to be cowardly when he decided to send out his daughters to be pack raped.. later we learn he was heartless as he allowed his wife to turn around and look, and didnt protect her from doing so.. then we know he was lacking in self control and allowed himself to get drunk...twice.. then we know he was dismissive and unrestrained and a general sicko when he had sex with his daughters...twice in a row!.

oh, but no...lets all praise him for being a righteous man.????!!!.

I guess the award for the most disgusting "righteous" Bible character would go to Samson. Unless you guys can think of a bigger asshole...

so far i've managed to keep service time to a minimum and i don't put my hand up to comment at the meetings and already certain ones are distancing themselves or not talking to me at all, i have to laugh!.

i wonder if they think i've commited a serious sin well sorry to burst their bubble i haven't, well not yet anyway lol.. i find it funny everything is measured on what they see, but yet i have too but my faith in 8 guys who i don't know or have never met, too stand a chance of everlasting life.. there was a part in the watchtower this afternoon saying we should be thankful we are 1 in 1000 of people in the world who have accurate knowledge, give me a break..

Why is only 1 person out of every thousand a witness? The usual answer given: Because Jehovah focuses on quality, NOT quantity

Oh wait... how many in the cong can you say are people of VERY GOOD QUALITY??? Many are miserable, down-hearted, tired-out & weary, drained & exhausted, not at all the "happiest people on earth" that they claim to be! Depression / mental disorders are widespread. Congs are full of people who are self-righteous, judgemental, quick to condemn others but oblivious to their own wrongdoings. Sex-abuse cases are rampant but are covered-up, with little or no action taken against the perpetrators. Are these people of QUALITY? Certainly not!!!
