  many posters quote geoffrey jackson as saying " it would be presumptuous" to say that the gb is jehovah's sole spokesperson on earth.. what he actually said was that "it would seem to be quite presumptuous".

  this is actually very clever, as adding "seem" to the sentence leaves the possibility that it isn't presumptuous to call themselves "jehovah's sole channel".

  (at least in their eyes).

  If they really were genuine about accepting suggestions, they could have easily published an e-mail address for that purpose. It makes no sense for them to publicise their website but not even give out an e-mail address! Letter writing is so out of date!

  what buzz word from the jw's do you hate & why?

  so my hubby has been on a bit of a roll about the jdubs, we were talking a lot about them & he said the buzz word he hate's the most is "worldly" why?

  because he say's "with that one word they have condemned (according to their believes) a person as being worthy of nothing but death.

  Wait on Jehovah - totally forgot about that one until MissFit mentioned it. That has definitely got to be on my list!

  Why? Because "wait on Jehovah" = excuse to do nothing!

  Another one I forgot - Can you do more?

  Why? Because you can never do enough! Eg: If you are not pioneering, can you do more & pioneer? If you start & auxiliary pioneer for one month, can you do more & continue? If you are a regular auxiliary pioneer, can you do more & regular pioneer? If you are a regular pioneer, can you do more & serve where the need is greater? And it goes on and on...

  The counsel given is for the sheep to obey & submit to the elders & to give them extrodinary consideration. What about the other way around? Shouldn't there also be counsel for the elders to treat the sheep with extrodinary love, kindness, & care?? There is always an imbalance in counsel given. The sheep get counselled but the elders are spared from counsel. No wonder the elders are always such a pain to deal with!

  as a jw, i did fit in, but i didn't belong (like the picture above).

  i was oblivious to this as a kid & in my teenage years, but i realized this subsequently after leaning ttatt & when trying to fade.

  As a JW, I did fit in, but I didn't belong (like the picture above). I was oblivious to this as a kid & in my teenage years, but I realized this subsequently after leaning TTATT & when trying to fade. I DID NOT BELONG!

  The only reason why I fit in was because I went along with everything & tried my best to do all that was required of me. Attended every meeting, went out in service regularly. Supported the congregation as a whole & helped individual members in various ways. Joined in congregational recreational activities, made friends with brothers + sisters both locally & from around the world. But yet, something was missing. I was not completely + genuinely happy & did not feel God's blessing in my life

  When I learned TTATT & started to fade, everything fell apart. The friends I thought I had were NOT friends in a true sense. Apart from "the truth," there was nothing much we had in common! Once you are not into "spiritual things," that was it. I couldn't relate to them, & neither could they relate to me! Conversations were shallow, superficial, & awkward. It became extremely difficult to carry on any conversation with them! Such a big difference compared to my "worldly" friends who I can freely converse with at ease about almost any topic imaginable!

  
  

  For any of you lurkers out there who think you fit in well, think again. You might fit in, but do you BELONG? Just put it to the test & you would know. I once fitted in, but now I know I don't belong to this cult & I am PROUD of it!

  hi simon,.

  i am not sure if the forum has this capability or not, but i have noticed that other online communities have a small section that indicates "--- amount of users online now, and --- guests online now".

  also, some internet forums have the option to show if a user is currently logged in or not.

  just happy to be alive....can barely move ☺.. a girl who just got her license , and a new suv....thought it might be cool to pass the person in front of her....at a curve......on a two way road!!!!!😠😠😠.

  I overlooked the part asking why earlier...

  Apostate - they use that term to refer to anything negative, even though it is usually true!

  Bible study / personal study - The Old Testament is simply disgusting to read!

  Elders - Imperfect men who are often arrogant & unloving

  Field service / ministry / preaching / witnessing - Total & complete waste of time!

  Jehovah's Witnesses - Self righteous jerks who think they have the truth but don't

  Ministerial servants - Better known as ministerial serpents

  Pioneering - I'm more zealous in the ministry than the rest of you spiritual losers

  Shunning - We love you so much that we do not want to talk to you... WTF!!!

  Spiritual / spiritually weak - You will die at Armageddon, slacker!

  Theocratic - Used to justify man-made rules by saying they come from God

  The truth - It's NOT!!!
