This is one of the teachings which DID NOT make sense to me. God supposedly DOES NOT desire any to be destroyed, yet goes AGAINST his own desire and punishes GOOD people with everlasting destruction simply because they are not convinced that JW's have the truth? And other people who fall in the same category actually get resurrected just because they happened to die ONE day BEFORE Armageddon? Such an unjust and unpleasant God does not deserve my worship!

"Well now at least they get a ressurection!"
by stuckinarut2 inyes, that is what a witness said after the police shootings and terrible aftermath of violence occurred this week in the usa..... they said that it now gives them a chance to live forever...as if they would not have had that opportunity if they had not been tragically killed..... of course according to witness teachings, the contradictory thing is that if the big a had come a day before, then those same people would have been killed by jehovah because they were not his worshipers.....

Did you have "Your chair" or place you sat at the K.H??
by karter ini never really did but lots of the "friends" did like one brother who felt the cold and had "his chair" by the window and was always closing the window when everyone else wanted it open.. karter..

I usually sat at the back. Never liked the middle or front seats, even before learning TTATT. If all the rear seats were taken, I would "steal" a chair from the 2nd hall & create MY OWN place at the back. Nobody dared to say anything!
I wasn't the only one who liked to sit at the back. Very few people actually liked to sit at or near the front. Those that did were mostly self-righteous individuals who I disliked. There were a few local needs parts and "gentle reminders" encouraging those who came earlier to sit at the front and leave the rear seats for those who came later. All to no effect!

Need Suggestions/examples: Guide to helping family & friends break free
by LisaRose ini was going through my copy of steve hassan's combating cult mind control and it occurred to me that it would be great to have something like this specifically for us ex jehovah's witnesses.
while this is a great book, the examples he uses are mostly from people that were moonies, as steve is a former moonie and many people that have contacted him for help were relatives of moonies.
while cults all work basically the same, it would be nice to be have some ideas on things that are specific to jehovah's witnesses.

My Issue With the Kingdom Melodies

As a music lover, I was disappointed in the quality of the "kingdom" melodies. As I was fading, I started to listen to "worldly" Christian music out of curiosity. I really liked the one in the video below. It's better than all of the JW songs I've ever heard!

We continually remember your faithful work, your loving labor.—1 Thess. 1:3.
Full-time servants have significant responsibilities in the most important work the world has ever known. (Matt. 28:19, 20) Could you or your congregation lend a hand if the parents of full-time servants need help? Those who enter the full-time ministry do so, not to gain financially, but to give—to Jehovah and to others. They deeply appreciate any help you can render. A sister serving in a foreign land echoes the feelings of many: “Even a note expressing appreciation shows that others are thinking of you and that they are happy about what you are doing.” Serving Jehovah full-time is truly the most rewarding way of life. It is challenging, instructive, and fulfilling. And it is fine preparation for the long-lasting joyful service that awaits all faithful servants of Jehovah under God’s Kingdom. May all of us continually remember those in the full-time service. w14 9/15 5:20-22Some questions to ponder about after reading this text:
1. How can it be said that the preaching work is "the most important work the world has ever known" when the majority of people DO NOT even KNOW what message JW's have or are not convinced by it?
2. If the preaching work is really "the most important work the world has ever known", then why is it so ineffective that 99%+ of the world's population (more than 7 BILLION people) would face destruction at Armageddon? (this is what JW's themselves believe)
3. If full-time servants are so important, then why is the org REDUCING their number?
4. Since the worldwide growth has slowed down, wouldn't it mean that those in full-time service are ineffective at their work?
5. If elderly parents of full-time servants need help, shouldn't it be THEIR responsibility to care for them instead of the other congregation members???
6. Which is more important - helping strangers OR helping OWN family members? Full-time servants with parents who are dependent have obviously got their priorities wrong!
7. "They deeply appreciate any help you can render." Shouldn't JEHOVAH be the one caring for ALL their needs?
8. Would "a note expressing appreciation" be more valued than a bank note of a large denomination?
9. "Serving Jehovah full-time is truly the most rewarding way of life?" Yes... if you like being a slave to a cult!
10. "May all of us continually remember those in the full-time service." Why... are they so forgettable that we have to be reminded to remember them?

Nobody at work knows what JWs believe
by Athanasius inrecently susie, one of my co-workers mentioned that her husband's family were all jws.
the family converted after susie's husband left home, so he never joined the jws, nor does he intend to.
anyway another co-worker asked her: "what do the jws believe?".

Exactly. The only things people usually know about JW's are what they are NOT ALLOWED to do - no birthdays, no festivals, no blood, no homosexuality. etc. They are also aware of the organizational scandals - JW's dying because they refused blood based on distorted beliefs, child abuse cases, false prophecies (1975), etc. They also believe JW's are a cult (correctly so!). That's all most people know about the religion & that is enough to keep them disinterested!

There will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again.—Matt. 24:21.
The earthly part of Jehovah’s organization is moving ahead in various ways. For instance, our understanding of Bible truth is constantly becoming clearer. This is to be expected, for “the path of the righteous is like the bright morning light that grows brighter and brighter until full daylight.” (Prov. 4:18) But we might well ask: ‘Am I keeping pace with refinements in our understanding of Scriptural truth? Is it my custom to read the Bible daily? Am I an avid reader of our publications? Do I and my loved ones have a weekly Family Worship evening?’ Most of us will agree that it is not too hard to do these things. Often it is just a matter of setting aside time to do them. And how important it is to take in accurate Scriptural knowledge, apply it, and make spiritual progress—especially now that the great tribulation is drawing so close! w145/15 4:2, 1010 questions to ponder about after reading this text:
1. With all the recent scandals that have hit the organization & thousands leaving as evidenced in the 2016 yearbook statistics, hasn't the organization slowed down instead of rapidly "moving ahead?"2. If the bible is truth, why is the "truth" presented so VAGUE & AMBIGUOUS? TRUTH should be clear in itself. It DOES NOT need to "become clearer!" (40,000+ Christian denominations... nuff said)
3. If "truth" "becomes clearer" & what was previously thought to be "truth" is no longer valid, does that not make JW's false teachers?
4. Why do JW's keep using Proverbs 4:18 when that scripture has NOTHING whatsoever to do with "the changing of light?"
5. When certain "truths" are changed entirely, isn't it deceitful to use the term "refinement?"
6. Can reading the bible daily make you a BETTER person? (Try reading the old testament!)
7. If JW's are required to be "avid readers" of the organization's publications, shouldn't they be avid readers of the old publications as well which contain numerous errors & incorrect teachings?
8. Isn't it ironic how the organization promotes "Family Worship" while at the same time promotes the breaking up of families through its unscriptural shunning policy?
9. It's "not too hard to do these things?" Yes it is! I was often stressed out & tired as a JW & observed that other JW's were also faring the same due to the numerous burdens placed upon us by this stupid cult!
10. The "great tribulation is drawing so close?" Wasn't that supposed to take place in 1975? Anyway, the only great tribulation I have experienced was being stuck in this ******* cult! (now I'm free!)
