  Meaningful Study

  i never thought i would be commenting, let alone starting a new topic in the category of bible research and study.

  anyone reading my comments on this site would have realised that i am the most unspiritual person to have ever stepped foot inside a kh.

  yet for the first time in my life, on saturday night, i did some meaningful bible study/research, on my own without a wtbts publication in sight, except the nwt bible.

  Calling what  the WT does with misinformation "study" is laughable, and I don't know how I swallowed it for as long as I did. Like you, I only started seriously "examining the sciptures" after I started turning apostate - oh, the irony wasn't lost on me.

  The borg's "study"practices are effective at guilt tripping, fear mongering, shame inducing, self-esteem destroying, family bond breaking indoctrination sessions.

  Yes, it really is that simple.  I would go a step further and say that they equate themselves with God.

  I started a thread about the movie Heaven is for Real movie, had no takers though.😥

  The movie seemed far fetched and convoluted.

  I remember as a kid the sunday school teacher telling me the streets of heaven were paved with gold, and even my tiny tiddly-peep brain thought " WTF!"

  I hate to break it to you undercover witness, but blind admiration of JWs, and a superficial knowledge of their teachings does not earn you the honorary title of "undercover witness."

  Your naivete is touching in a "talking out of your ass" kind of way.

  Circuit Overseer Field Service Advice

  lol for some reason i was just reminded about the time a circuit overseer told my mom a good method of talking to householders was to say the following things "i don't have too much time to talk to you" or "i'm very busy today so i'll only share this one thought.

  " .

  i know if i had been at the door i woulda said "if you are so busy why the hell are you wasting time knocking on my door butthead?

  I can't count how many times I would be at a door with a sister, who would say:

  "I realize you must be busy so I'll be brief...."

  and then proceeded to spend at least ten minutes giving a presentation. Longer if the person didn't object.
