  e. soriano set matters straight for me.. you people alleged that the creation of adam is an "anti-scientific nonsense; and god did not.

  create adam from a handful of dust, like the bible says, (ok maybe a bucket full).

  JW UN Rumor

  yes, i have returned.. a short recap of major events since my inactivity began: i finally revealed to my parents that i do not believe the same thing they believe in (after i was caught smooching my girlfriend by a family of good-for-nothing pieces of human feces), and of course they view themselves as failed parents who were unable to brainwash their children.

  that is, of course, the reason why they are much more controlling over what i do in my life now (my mom even tried having a "bible study" with me).

  i told them everything and i was unable to dent their jw imposed mind force field, while also exposing a clear jw misunderstanding of probability, evolution, history, logic/reason, and the big bang theory.. in a conversation i had with my mother a few weeks back (i also heard this rumor before, but my mother told me it again), she mentioned how the un held a summit of all religions and when the jws presented themselves and mentioned their preaching work warning of the coming un ban on religion (referring to an international organization who can't even prevent genocide, much less impose human rights), a un official came up to the jw who presented the cult and told him to "speed up the preaching work", because they plan on doing the ban soon.. it saddens me to think of how ignorant jws are in relation to the principles upon which the un was founded and being unaware that the un at least has some sense as to not ban religion, but this rumor, as ridiculous as it is, needs to be put at rest.

  I've had that sad little tale related to me as well, except at the end of it I made a point of feigning great interest and saying -

  "that is wonderful news, so who was the Brother that represented JWs, and what was the UN officials name....sorry when exactly did this happen...and who told you?....oh you have to go, oh too bad maybe next time you could give some details that's a really interesting experience.....bye, bye now...."

  WE NEED MORE MONEY! (Letter sent to Mexico re: JW Broadcasting of May 2015).

  i don't know if they're making similar arrangements in other parts of the world but below you will find the letter (and the translation attempt) they're sending to all the congregations in mexico and central america asking them to modify their september 21 and september 28 service meeting programs.. after watching jackson's gold apple watch and lett's pinky ring one can only assume they are a bunch of brazen, shameless and greedy bastards!.

  the letter has already been uploaded at the spanish forum and you can find it if you click here or see the attached picture.. the translation "attempt" is as follows:.

  august 1, 2015. to all congregations.

  I'll take this letter as a good sign. Won't be long before they are in "fire sale" mode.

  Possibly all the SADBs (still attending but don't believe) are at not giving financial support.

  What woke you up?

  in march of 2014, i was a very active jw, a ministerial servant, gave a public talk, was an attendant for the memorial, and one of 4 cleaning captains for an international convention of 40,000+ attendees.

  so what woke me up?

  an innocent comment from a co-worker about the candice conti court case rang a bell that could not be unrung.

  The prevalence of WT jerk-people in every cong I ever attended, was like a alarm clock going off in my brain every few months with me just hitting the snooze button.

  Eventually I stopped hitting snooze and started examining the teachings in ernest and that was like climbing out of bed and getting a coffee.

  Then lights started turning on in my brain that hadn't been used in years and I was able to get dressed and get the hell out.

  Paint, Barney, and Jehovah

  i made a quick run to lowes to buy some paint and ran into a brother.

  he is one of those elders that is very, very, petty.

  if he drops by your house unexpected and notices that your kids are watching one of the star wars movies, he will counsel you for allowing your kids to watch any movie that has to do with war he will then make sure you are not recommended for any privilege.

  Sounds like Barney felt you weren't showing him the respect and reverence he is used to and feels he deserves.

  That's what it boils down to for many of these guys they want people to grovel to them and defer to them for divine guidance if they deel theybare higher up on the totem pole than you.

  They hate it when you treat them like a regular guy.

  My COBE was a dead ringer for Waldo/Wally from Where's Wally.

  I told him that once in a joking manner and the look on his face was " how daaarre yoouu!!"

  I thought, get over yourself mate, you're only a legend in your own lunchtime.

  as some of you might have read last week, my mother had extremely low hemoglobin and without it, she would have died.

  i have somehow managed to bring her to reason and accept the transfusion.

  it saved her life.

  The origin of the name and masthead illustration of The Watchtower

  thanks to the great "watchtower history" blog with historical information about the pre- and early bible students years, i became today aware of the origine of the name the watchtower and the masthead illustration in front of the old magazines.. in c.t.

  russell's younger days, his mother and other relatives died and were buried on the family plot at the allegheny cemetery.. it must have been a defining moment voor the young ctr.

  look at his inspiration to choose the name and masthead of his magazine.

  want to thank everyone that's posted on the other thread the advise is much appreciated and i will look at all the ideas before i proceed.

  i wanted to talk about the advise concerning stopping my kids from going to meetings and or stopping the jw's from studying with my kids.

  first a little background on my situation.. im still married and still living with my wife.
