Impact of the Royal Commission of Inquiry on JW policies and procedures
by steve2 inthe royal commission is not yet over.
the summary of findings on jws is not the end of the story.
the legal process is unfolding and the only open question is the extent to which jw organization in australia will be legally mandated to change its policies and procedures on child sexual abuse.. (on the question of shunning those who leave, the commission is well intended but has strayed beyond its legal brief.

Girlnextdoor -Sorry for the misunderstanding. I'm not saying the RC is a toothless tiger, but that possibly someone in WT heirarchy would arrogantly deem it to be and therefore not to be taken too seriously. Hypothetical reason for their un-preparedness??? -

The WT did appear rather ill-prepared which I put down to several possible rationales/scenarios.
* This was a deliberate strategy from the higher ups at HQ to cause the brothers at Australia Branch to appear feckless to the extreme. Which wasn't difficult because even brothers with positions at a relatively large branch are feckless to the extreme. Ignorant and out of the GB loop, cannon fodder at best.
* Once fecklessness has been established, and it was...oh it was. The GB have their heads on a plate to serve up to the media or the gov or whoever else is demanding for a few heads to roll. They can say the Aus Branch f...ed up, they didn't know what they were doing, but we will "fire" all the incompetents and "clean house" in the spirit of cooperation.
* Someone, somewhere in the Head Honcho dep at HQ would have reseached the RC and deemed it to be a toothless tiger, so therefore nothing to worry about.
*They have already inplemented some clever jiggery-pokery with changing the name of the TMS and dropping the bookstudy in private homes and will continue to rearrange the wording/phrasing of key passages in future literature and correspondence and present this as evidence of change - if asked to provide it.

Sometimes I think Jehovah's Witnesses overuse the word "historic"
by slimboyfat inat the beginning of the may broadcast stephen lett said this was a historic broadcast.
he explained that every member of the governing body had hosted a show and they were starting over again.
that was all the explanation he gave.

Just put on ARC website: submissions of senior counsel
by Tornintwo inhttp://www.childabuseroyalcommission.gov.au/downloadfile.ashx?guid=359d7249-0d4f-4c51-9265-1c40aa6b3b21&type=transcriptpdf&filename=submissions-of-senior-counsel-assisting-the-royal-commission&fileextension=pdf.
just having a quick read through, the findings are damning.
mr toole is being reported to the law society of australia.... a few highlights so far:.

So that explains why the Australia Branch is now "putting out feelers" for a new lawyer. -

Yeah, "historic" as in WT trumpet blast kind of "historic" also known as delusions of grandeur.
In years to come "Grumpy Cat" will be considered more "historic" than any WT announcement or event.
The WT doesn't get to decide what events are "historic" history does!
They overuse the word "truth" as well.

I think WT operations will become such, that eventually everything can be controlled remotely from the US or maybe some secret undisclosed location. We all know how paranoid they are, couple that with the fact that now they actually have reason to believe people/victims/lawyers are in fact out to get them and I can see them making strategic withdrawals all over the globe. -

An elder bought my son a suit
by Clambake ini guess being two months old and coming to the kh in his onesee was kind of offensive .

Hey clambake, you can buy pacifiers with moustaches on them, would look great with the suit 😉
Tell the guy he only wears his moustache pacifier with his new suit, and he'll counsel you to stop dressing the baby in the suit.
You gotta fight fire with fire with these people. Beat them at their own game.

Which bible character do you hate the most?
by Bonsai inthe more i think about it, the more i feel an extreme dislike for the apostle paul.
he was on par with hitler in his treatment of the jews before he "saw the light".
he replaced jesus teachings of love and mercy with a more legalistic, pharisaical concept of devotion to god.. any evil person can come to believe in god and worship him if the scales were literally and miraculously removed from his eyes.

The whole time I was "in the jw compound" was like I was "sick that decade" re world events and current affairs (which interest me a lot BTW.)
I have a theory that whilst being a dub we severely underutilize our brains memory and learning capacity. It makes me think of an electronic device that is always charged when the battery power is at a certain point and after a while the device will stop working at that point even when there is still power left on the battery. Because it has been trained to stop working at a certain point never allowed to "max out" as it were so it's capacity becomes restricted.
Anyway, probly makes no sense but my excuse is, I get my left and right confused also, maybe it's a female brain thing 😮
