Someone should alert the local newspapers to make sure they go on Friday. 😉

If An Organization Really Believed It Had the Truth...
by xjwsrock in....it would not be scared of critics.
actually they would naturally take an offensive stance, wouldn't they?
they would welcome debate... even encourage it.
-

Didn't the apostles supposedly actively seek debate then why wouldn't the GB?
The answer as you say is obvious if they encourged genuine questions and intelligent debate it would quickly become obvious that their whole belief system is a house of cards, a row of unstable dominos unprotected from even a gentle breeze of facts, reasoning and logic.

Cult memories extinguish good memories
by rebel8 ini have this thing.
i don't know why it is or how to stop it.
every time i happen to daydream about something positive from my childhood, some related cult aspect comes to mind and extinguishes it like a candle is being blown out.. for a while, i thought this was anger and resentment causing me to want to find an excuse to be angry (not that i need one).

There is no doubt WT leaves a very sour aftertaste that flavors even the nice memories. I have dealt with it by reminding myself that all the other people in my memories were indoctrinated and as such acted as their indoctrinated selves. We were all "under a spell" thankfully I woke up from the spell they did not.
I ask myself would this person have acted the same way if their mind was there own, and they were free to be themselves. I may never know, but the exercise provides me with distance between the person and how they acted and that it probably wasn't personal it's just what cult indoctrinated people do.

Need advice
by Drwho ini'm a middle aged man.
i dated a jw lady for 3 months ., we never had sex, just made out , half naked , well everything except underwear .
she has been a jw for 40 years ., was married to a jw but he committed adultery 13 years ago so they divorced .

Giordiano - if you reread my comment I do qualify that statement, no need to virtue signal, I do know we are all indeed hypocrites by degree.
Point being that indoctrinated cult victims suffer a particular form of self- blindness that makes them difficult to reason with.

She has been trained to only listen to one voice and that's WT's, though if she has been foolng around with you then she is a hypoctrite. I'm not judging her just saying JWs tend to seperate their actions from their words and that split makes them very difficult to reason with. Logic seems to bounce off as they just parrot the WT script they have running in their heads.
She may wake up if you gave her an ultimatum but then again she may not.
People wake up when they're ready and some never wake up.
Just ask yourself how much time do you want to waste on this project cause it gets old fast - really it does.

Jehovah protects his people. Did he ever protect you?
by TimeBandit inhello forum.
i started this topic because i had been thinking recently about a story that i had heard many times in different congregations over the years.
kind of a jw urban legend if you will.

G Losch Talk - Do Not Hold a Grudge
by Listener ina new video on jw org tv titled do not hold a grudge is presented by gb's oldest member gerrit losch.this is just another representation of the standard of talks prepared and given by the highest level of authority and position within the jw organization.
they desperately need help, not even their complete rebranding can save them from themselves.some of this gb member's gems about holding a grudge include -.
- what can lead to a grudge?
-
sparrowdown
Ok so in the shunning video you are told to hold a grudge until the person gets reinstated.
Now they are saying don't hold a grudge, what do they think shunning is?
Disfellowshipping has got to be the mother of all grudges! Carried out by an entire group!
WT speaking out both sides of their ass - again.

Oh yeah, who can forget the bruvverly luuuuve.
Reminds me of a line from a movie (Addams Family values I think) when Fester's wife "Debbie" screams at Gomez
" He's wrapped in a gossamer blanket of love, and he hates your guts."

"holding the anointed elders in his right hand"
by oppostate in(ks10 p11:1) revelation 1:20 depicts jesus as holding the anointed elders in his right hand, thus, by extension, indicating that he controls all bodies of elders for the purpose of accomplishing jehovah’s will.
(re pp.
in the shepherding book it says "holding the anointed elders in his right hand".

"Holding the elders in his right hand"....
Since the GB are dicks it sounds a little masturbatery (is that even a word?) of them to claim to be in Jesus right hand. Anyway, eeww.

JWs in effect say "if you believe anything other than what WT teaches you are are stupid and worthy of death"
Yeah, that's so respect-worthy. Bit, hard to feel all warm and fuzzy about someone who thinks you are worthy of death if you don't attend their church meetings
