What would be the Watchtower organizations response to "GB-Fact-checkers"
by Esse quam videri inmuch is being said during the usa election run-up and trump-clinton debates about checking the facts of statements made by each candidate.
this is, of course, serious stuff as the direction of the countries future depends on just who is elected into office of the president of the united states of america.
not president of the local 'glee club' or the 'southside knitting society' , but, the president of the united states of america.

Counting time
by Emma ini may not have put this in the correct spot, but i do think it's scandalous the way time gets counted now.
i've seen a cart at the edge of our farmer's market, never anyone close enough to talk.
yesterday was a drizzly day and there were two carts set up, covered in plastic, "witnessing" on their own.

Campaign to invite people to meetings
by StarTrekAngel injust found out last night that our congo is starting a campaign to invite interested people to meetings.
the instructions for the campaign clear out that "interested" people are not just those whom we visit often or have bible studies with.
it includes and random stranger we may talk to and who may show a hint of interest on the religion.

Will all the inactive in the territory be getting one?
Seems ridiculous to me when the number of inactive witnesses in the area I live in would outnumber the amount of witnesses who attend the meetings.
Could never understand why they don't make more of a sincere effort to woo old "customers" back with a promise of "new and improved" meetings. Oh yeah that's right because they don't want old customers back who would know that the meeting are still shit.

JW dot borg is probably counted as a community service running 24/7.

Field service in all it's forms is only so WT can say "Our org does heaps of volunteer work, and we have the stats to prove it."

Will the UN turn on Religion?
by no-zombie inas all witnesses know, the opening gambit of the great tribulation will occur when the united nations turns on organized religion to devastate them and leave them naked of people and resources.
however, as jehovah's judgement day has been spoken of as being "imminent", the question that can be fairly asked ... 'is the united nations organization actually in a position to act as god's destroyer of false religion?
while i have no doubt that most within that organization had in the past tried to make the lives of the desperate better, the united nations has unfortunately now become a weak and underfunded political eunuch.

You said it yourself the rest of the world would have to agree to anyting as big a "turning on the harlot and eating up her fleshy parts."
Though, I always thought "turning on religion" would mean closing down churches and "eating her fleshy parts" would mean selling off and siezing of assets.
Has watchtower started to liquidate in preparation?
And, if they truly believe religion's days are numbered then why would they build a big ass broadcasting studio and headquarters?
What they do is always more telling than what they say.

Major congregational quake in Southern California
by Hecce inthis notice is not official yet and it should be confidential until released thru the proper channels.
a friend of mine told me about a huge elders meeting in southern california.
the subject was the relocation and dissolution of some congregations; it seems that this is the result of some project that has been going on for some time and is going to be implemented right now.. please let me know if this is happening all over the country?.

Id say some brothers in some hellhole somewhere on earth were forced to trek through crocodile infested waters to go to the meeting.
What was more than likely left out of a story like that was that every non-jw man woman and child in that village had to do the same thing just to get anywhere.

Watch Tower is NOT Parasitic
by berrygerry ini was pondering about how parasitic watch tower was and looked it up on wiki:.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/parasitism.
interestingly, watch tower is not parasitic, as a parasite does not destroy its host - the host sustains the parasite.. instead watch tower is a parasitoid, which "unlike a true parasite, however, it ultimately sterilizes or kills, and sometimes consumes, the host.".

I wouldn't see individual JWs as the host they are a tiny cell of the host organism but not the whole. The host in WT's case is JWs as a group where individual members over time join and leave, die and are born just as old cells die new ones take their place but the body as a whole remains .
They even tell it's members that with the promise "Jehovah promises to protect his people as a group."
I prefer to think of WT as vampires sucking out the lifeblood or energy of it's captive victims in the form of using up their physical, emotional and monetary energy in order to stay alive.
If you let them, these energy vampires they will suck you dry and then move on to a new victim.

How do we know JWs are wrong and how do we convince others JWs are wrong: logic versus persuasion
by slimboyfat inwe like to think we are logical and have good reasons for for our beliefs.
no more so than when it comes to our reasons for rejecting the truth claims of jws.
we reject their version of history, such as the date of the fall of jerusalem, because it doesn't agree with the historical evidence.

I think for many of the people who remain in this group their reasons for doing so are mainly social.
The pressure to conform, the desire to be accepted and approved of by the group etc - all natural desires which WT is happy to exploit. For those people they stay for social reasons and they leave for social reasons.
When things are going fine socially they can overlook any mistake or gaps in logic presented by WT. Then, when something very painful happens or maybe a succession of painful events that causes their "faith" to shatter they start to question the things they were previously only too happy to ignore and they are no longer able to cut WT the slack it needs to keep the lies going. If someone acts on these feelings of "someting is not right here" and starts to research WT for themselves that's when true awakening can occur.
In my experience with trying to prove, convince or persuade others truth cannot be told it can only be realized. This point you alluded to in your post and for that reason if I see a JW now and cannot avoid chatting with them I talk about anything and everything but the"truth." Far more effective for them to see me happy and well adjusted.

Craziest meeting in last 10 years let's compare
by Chook inhi guys ,i'm new here 27 in 1 year out.. ive escaped 2 judicially by changing congs in rapid escape .i will tell my last dodged bullet.i swear these word as gospel honest.6 years ago in oz i'm in cong only about a year and tensions were running high due to a crazy old european bro ex elder who took no shit from the 10 apostles.i like him i don't know if it was the rebel in me or underdog syndrome but good guy 74years old he was.we just had this big sense the razor were getting sharpened.we arrive at thursday's night meeting my wife was at home so another big boring night i thought, was i wrong.the body has every mongrel breed.the three main characters were the italian dutch german, service committee.we start with song prayer ,the dutchy get up and says we are making adjustments to meeting tonight the arrogant bastard says only bible reading tonight then there agender.dutchy says.what is most amazing is these 10 idiots agreed to this changing of meeting program.
(these words are true)"we have a korah influence in cong and the 10 apostles have established an open judicial committee, the elders said there was evil in our mist .so to root out the evil if anyone has heard a bro say anything against any elders recently the are to report to the three stooges.well dutchy dims light and play the old prehistoric korah movie to the cong ,the bloody creation movie by russell was higher quality.
30 mins later german takes to the stage for the circus to begin.he repeats the dutch mantra ,well the publishers were looking at each other like it was north korea ,could have heard a pin drop,we are all thinking to ourselves we are all guilty of bitchin about the bastards .before meeting had finished halfway thru movie i rang my mate to tell him about "the burning "as the meeting became affectionately known.get home tell wife she don't believe me,within 2 days she believed.it was the talk of area.i had never rang bethel previously because i believed it was heaven and it didn't need my voice.next morning ring service desk in sydney and all i said i was concerned what took place at meeting last night .

Welcome Chooky, it feels good to unload doesn't it, albeit slightly incoherently, that WT poison is better out than in.
