Does the Watchtower Bible Society own stocks. Nad are those stock related to military business?

hello.. i am a young 18 year old danish guy, who is a baptized jw.

since one year ago i have been maturing gradually and asking questions about many things, not only about jw stuff(which has caused some problems.

but nothing i couldnt handle with a bit of social skill).

Maybe that's WTs loophole and one degree of separation morally. Someone elses money, someone elses trust WT collects the benefits.

i have always maintained that i hold nothing personally against individual witnesses, even those that have actively slandered our name and reputation based on the actions of some individuals.. i have often said that all these ones, (even the ones spreading gossip), are victims of the culture of the organization, and the directions of the gb.. but recently i have been rethinking this, and wonder if ignorance is really an acceptable excuse?.

i mean, with so much information now readily available about the society, its origins, its scandals, issues and conduct, is it simply ok for a witness to remain wilfully ignorant about the organization that dictates every aspect of their lives?.

is ignorance an excuse?.

No willful ignorance is not an excuse.

JWs have access to all the same information we have access to, they don't even have to look at apostate sites for information if that would be too disturbing to their delicate sensibilities.

I don't see ignorance as the problem anyway it's a symptom, a symptom of the thought stopping that comes with indoctrination. Repeated indoctrination instills fear, disables the conscience and rational, logical thought processes go out the window. If reasoning ability and conscience were intact it would prompt them to research.

Until a JW sees, thinks or feels something is very wrong with their religion they are not likely to research.

WT in it's stunning display of ignorance have once again missed the point.

Viewing child pornography means that the child/children in the images/video are being subjected to some form of abuse in order for the images/footage to be recorded. Also where there is child porn there is a pedophile.

reading john cedars book and the section about when the more crazy shit gets introduced to you is very telling.

Yes the whole truth about the disfellowshipping thing is sold to people in such a way that it's either glossed over superficially, quickly covered in a perfunctory way ie question answer move on fashion, or made to appeal to the student's sense of justice because of course there is no justice in the "world." In the honeymoon period of pre- baptism when love bombing is at it's strongest it only seems like a teeny tiny fly in the ointment no need to get off the "venga bus" to everlasting life when "armagedon is round the corner."

Even born-ins that get baptized at an older age don't think it will ever happen to them or their family.

Typical culty behavior bait and switch advertising, downplay the negative turn up the volume on the imaginary positive. If DFing is so just and loving why not own it!

"Overlapping Generation" is a "Spiritual Generation" - a letter to the governing body

could you please introduce the phrase "spiritual generation" to replace the phrase "overlapping generation".

Yes spiritual gen would solve the problem of time better than "overlapping." Even "next gen" would because there will always be a next gen but Star Trek have already used it lol.

Interestingly, when I mentioned the "overlapping generation" to a "sister" recently she was very quick to point out latest to me the latest buzzword amongst the witnesses is the "era" not the "generation."

Some bright spark CO said it apparently and being good little sheeple they gobbled it up. I thought it shows how average dubs are struggling to hold on to the concept of "this generation" being "overlapping" so they invent a new word to make themselves feel better about it.

I don't know about discriminatory laws what about natural laws. Men being physically stronger than women can easily force a womans legs open this guy must be an idiot. Unless the woman is a professional wrestler and the man is smaller in weight. It's just a stupid ignorant comment.

Which begs the question will we ever evolve past it or is "religion" in some form or other here to stay?

It 's not necessarily the traits themselves but the exploitation of them that bothers me. The only way for humans to not get exploited by other humans is to "know thyself" IOW if we become aware of the way our brain/minds work we are less likely to be victim to the exploits of the humans in religious/political/economic power that do know how the human brain/mind works - if that makes sense.

Hmmm definitely food for thought.
