That's a great idea letting your daughter you are there, letting the witnesses know you are not afraid of them.
Good for you PE you're not fading away into the sunset.
i work in the city, the liverpool convention is this weekend.

i was wondering if someone could help me with a question.. i am a rookie exjw, i only left the organization 4 months ago and everything i've discovered (un/arc/malawi/mexico etc) i've only discovered in the last few months so you can image it's been a huge shock to me especially after after 50 yrs!.
every time i think i've heard everything, something else pops up.. now i've come across a youtube video that mention tv evangelizer jimmy swaggart and the watchtower.
i remember jimmy swaggart from the time i lived in the u.s.a and i remember the scandals with him and prostitutes etc.
Great intel snare&racket.
jehovah's witnesses have had to revise their chronology and various doctrinal interpretations due to events and scholarly corrections.
but the one teaching where they have been consistently ahead of the curve is the importance of jehovah's name.. .
i'm going to run through a (necessarily selective) timeline of jw events and scholarly publications that demonstrate the phenomenal success of this teaching in the last days.
I had an aversion to the word Jehovah - even when I was in. Couldn't explain it at the time apart from, yes, as Cofty said, it is an ugly word. I would avoid using it whenever I could, especially when speaking to householders. The way JWs use it like a lucky charm verbal talisman is silly and creepy IMO. Can you imagine talking to a person in everyday life and dropping their name every third word like that - they would slap you and tell you to stop it.
i remember about 5 years ago reading on another site about subliminal images in wt literature.
i honestly thought it a load of bs until i checked out one glaringly obvious image of a creepy skull in clouds within the knowledge book.
i was shocked and even showed my wife at the time who thought it was creepy.. so my question is why?
Wow, that pic from the 91 awake, when the photo is enlarged, the man is actually grabbing the boys jeans between his thumb and forefinger - very strange, why would an art director direct that.
i wanted to get people's opinion on something.
how do you feel when people use illegal means while performing their activism to shed light on the watchtower.
there have been people who have illegally recorded conversations with elders and with branch offices or at meetings.
Why not just acknowledge the responses then, if people go to the trouble of commenting just say thankyou for the comments. You know, just like in a WT study.
so we've already established that most religions can be classified as high control groups, we can name the wbts, church of scientology, lds, etc.
the list goes on and on.
but are there any religions or organizations that aren't classified as a high control group or aren't as bad as the ones i've just mentioned?
Any that do not require exclusive devotion to them. Any that leave you free to come and go as you please, ask questions, raise doubts and leave you alone to lead your own life and make your own decisions. Plenty more common sense stuff to look out for but any that squash freedom of thought is a big red cult flag.
august 1, 2017 to all bodies of elders re: using and maintaining kingdom halls.

uk.
Gotta hand it to WT bloody brilliant scammers.

You ask for opinions but never respond to them?

Arguing over the pronunciation and usage of YHWH is just as distracting and pointless as dropping the JHWH-bomb every second sentence as a verbal talisman like WT does. In my opinion, if Jesus thought the YHWH was such a biggie he was in the perfect position to resurrect the name and clear up any confusion about it.
during the "do you love me more than these" watchtower study on sunday, i got so angry on many occasions, hearing people make comments like "if you enjoy your job, you're an enemy of jehovah" and "the only reason we're here is to preach.
work and relaxation only exist to help us to preach".. the paragraph talking about the "do more!
" attitude in the world getting people down really got me down just reading it, as it applies so much to the borg.. i also found the ecclesiastes scripture quoted to be ironic, as the rest of the article tells is that nothing is better or more of a priority than to preach;.
Ha! I don't even know how they could call it preaching these days, they play some crap video with creepy voice-over and hypnotic music off a device and call that "preaching"!
