Which is better minimum wage or minimum income?
by hoser inwe were having this discussion in the office the other day and we came to the conclusion minimum wage is better because it still adds to the economy vs minimum income which someone could potentially stay at home and do nothing and still get paid without producing a thing for the greater economy.. thoughts?.

The "Imperfect Men" Argument
by steve2 inone of the most common "defences" of jw organization is that "the brothers" are imperfect yet still strive to follow god's word.
"sure, they make mistakes," so the argument goes, "but so did god's people in the past, including in bible times.
" the key point is their readiness to keep studying god's word and learning from their mistakes.".

Try playing the "imperfect" card in a JC and see how far you get. The only men that get to be "imperfect" are the GB.

They must really be worried that they are losing the battle to keep people content in "jehovah's" slave-service. -

"Go and tell someone who cares...I dont care!"
by stuckinarut2 ini don't usually like the confrontational approach to those on the carts, however this video is a great example of how jws do not really care about child abuse issues!.
the arrogance of this brother is disturbing..... bear with the video.
it gets really interesting around the 6 min mark, where the brother loses his cool.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5chulnnyqs.

Cart people are the worst, just couting easy time. I don't know if I could stomach talking to them as an apostate I think it would be more productive to present as an interested member of the public to bypass their biases.

And now for something you might be able to hear without repulsion
by TerryWalstrom ini won't give a long preamble other than to say this.
listen and see how you respond.
and now i'm passing it along to get your feedback.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28i3lwxw5xs.

I relate to the way JP explains many things he's an interesting guy to listen to most of the time.
Btw I can listen without repulsion to JP or anybody for that matter, just like I can walk and chew gum. I generally try to listen first then make up my mind.

Stores will go cashier-less in the future it's inevitable. Scan your credit card as you enter, everything you pick up is tracked and scanned atomatically when you leave. Fast food can be done with AI and eventually will be I imagine and probably better, the local Mac's for eg, the twelve yr olds that work there couldn't assemble a burger or get an order right to save their lives. There doesn't seem to be any pride in that kind of work now. I did my stint in fast food like many people did but the standards just don't seem to be there anymore apparently everyone is too good for these lowly jobs now. Everyone expects to be CEO by age twenty three.

Tell me if I’m wrong - Jeffery Jackson is not a governing body member.
by Truth and Justice inyesterday, i had my sister come over to tell my mother and i that she will no longer have anything to do with us, because we need to come back to the meetings, it’s what jehovah wants, and hands her a letter to read and asks for a final hug.
my mother has been dealing with a terrible lost of dad since july, and has been very ill with stress because of it.
i no longer belong to the organization either, and i have been helping my mother out thru this ordeal, it is just as rough on me.

That's like saying I don't know Heir Hitler personally, I don't follow him anyway, I am a nazi.

Sorry to hear that you left the "truth"
by eyeuse2badub inthe other day i ran into a jw who just happened to be my very friend during my jw days (which were most of my life).
so for about 60 years we were each other’s very best friend.
we grew up together from about 8 years old and are the same age, now in our early 70’s.

He brings up the subject and then changes it when you reply - typical JW move, avoid any discussion with honest answers.
"...sorry to hear that you left the truth..."
Reply: "Sorry to hear that you haven't."
