  can i ask your views on taking children out on the ministry?

  do you have any experiences you can share of things you as a child/your children/grandchildren have witnessed on the ministry that they shouldn't have?.

  This is one my bugbears with JWs.

  I agree with "still ADD" I truly believe it to be a form of emotional and psychological abuse and one of the forced activities that forms the basis of the trauma that cements the indoctrination in the child's mind.

  The child is also exposed to all sorts of potentially dangerous people, animals and situations - again all part of the trauma for a child and the embarrassment can be crippling to a young teenager's self esteem and image.

  Just like being forced to keep awake at meetings with threats of corporal punishement and humiliation.

  Effectively teaching the child "learned helplessnes."

  Is attendance down in your location too?

  i was commenting on another thread about how local kh attendance is down.

  memorial attendance was also way down and the circuit assembly had hundreds less people than what is typical.

  my jw family has even mentioned it.

  Just by the by I read an article the other day that said the Anglican Church is selling off churches also to make way for 'new form of ministry" whatever that means. I think western religions at least are going through a transition because of longterm ongoing global downturn of attendance at bricks and mortar churches.

  Dear Bros,

  It's appropriate to play the video along with the audio for the benefit of blind ones as the blind usually don't complain.

  It's also appropriate to play both the audio and the video for the dumb as the dumb usually don't complain.

  Bizarre. I still don't get why they were naked. Half-dressed maybe but naked???

  There has got to be way more to this story than is said in the article to be sure to be sure.

  my wife (uber) mentioned today an elderly man who comes to the kh and he suffers from a sever stomach complaint which needs surgery and that there is a 'waiting list' at the local hospital.. so i says, "why dont the elders put the $$ together to get his op done privately.

  " (ie out of the govt system and 'waiting lists').

  her answer was telling.

  They don't mind taking charity from "worldly" people. Or accepting organs or blood fractions from "worldly" people when they need one. Hypocrites.

  ok so this is a topic i've pondered and go back and forth on.. i can easily see a point where lawsuits cause massive deficits in the organization.

  honestly i feel like we are seeing the tip of the iceberg in regards to lawsuits on child abuse.

  to me it looks like the property sell offs are to be able to get ready for this.

  Didn't that family with the sick daughter Felicity that appeared on a JWBorgcast use a gofundme for her trip to US for treatment and also her trip home again because HQ wouldn't cough up a penny?
