I love that quote OC, thanks for posting it!
Cultbgone - I agree, no news is good news as far I 'm concerned.
i was feeling particularly hopeless about the whole jws being assholes thing and sick to death of pretending so ....
i rang my sister and told her that i no longer believe jws have the truth and the phone went silent, when i asked her to say something she just said if that was the case then she would have to hang up on me and then proceeded to indeed hang up..
so i texted her back immediately with fu..

my thoughts are.
1. they want to avoid being made to comply with any laws that come with anything classed as a "school" especially a school with children enrolled.. 2. the mid-week meeting has been dying in the ass for years and needs a revival.
i predict happy -clappy-sing-a-longs to be included in the program.. anyone else have any thoughts ??
ok.....ya gotta hear this ......pops, who is 80 + , slightly nacisistic, slight case of alzheimers, and a stubborn good ol man.. decided to grow a pretty nice lookin goatee this week..... elders swooped on him so quick, it was crazy....... pops looked like he was diggin the whole show of testosterone being flung in his face , but he stood his ground and smiled.... when the dust settled, and pops had his say..... he replied......"im imitating jesus, and jehovah "....!!!!.
omg...the smile on my face, and the one on my dads was priceless......along with the frowns on theirs... thats all....just wanted to share that..

The fave setting the sister's used for their talks in our hall was ...wait for it "encouraging (counseling)another sister"
So it wasn't even relevant for field ministry. Many of the sisters that gave these fine talks only turned up for the mid-week meeting when they had a talk assignment and left straight after the school.
Oh what a giver of joy the school was - not!

To me it has always seemed so arbitrary and capricious how they decide who to hunt down and who to ignore.
I've seen some who were stalked and hounded until they either formally DA or were DF, and others the elders didn't chase no matter what the reports of sin and debauchery.

A "school" you never graduate from - what's not to miss ?
Women never allowed to directly address the audience - I know, that's a privilege I will have trouble living without.
School Overseers counseling people on their pro-noun-see-ation - aw shucks God love their little ignorant hearts.
Small male children in tiny suits and ties reading bible passages that would earn an R-rating if made into a movie - .
- oh it's just as cute as a button the way little Johnny praises Jehovah like that.
Cue sad music and photo montage. RIP TMS.
