No worries, I even had bits of safety glass stuck on the back of my sweater and in my hair. -

The glass on my oven door exploded as you describe, a thousand pieces of safety glass all over the place.
I had just checked whatever was cooking shut the door and as I turned and walked away pshhh.
I felt like I was in a Bruce Willis movie walking away calmly from a house as it explodes behind him.lol, ok so I have a flair for the dramatic.
I wish the WT was an oven door 😇

Blatant apostates did they ever rescue anyone from the cult?
by Crazyguy inwe have all heard about ones who have left and became seriously opposed.
did they have any success in getting anyone out like thier families or is going full appostate a waste of time when it comes to rescuing family and friend's?

It depends on the personality of the individual and where they come from as well.
Some countries and cultures are more used to people that protest than others. That can influence how you view protest in general.

I never met a truly angry apostate, only some that were very much in pain and it did cause me to wonder why, how and what happened to them.
It also caused me to inwardly acknowledge that the congregation could be a very cold place.
So in that sense, all these little incidents, with a variety of people, contributed (I feel) to me waking up.

IMO what happens on forums usually isn't a fair debate so I try not to take them too seriously.
If on the other hand, bullying somone into not posting, or pushing someones buttons on a hot-button issue is "winning" a forum debate then there are so many threads, not enough time to pick a favorite.

We missed you at the meetings
by punkofnice ina vomit inducing comment.. i asked why do they have to specify 'meetings'?
they never miss us in tesco or the showcase cinema bar.. in their defence, a friend of mine said: 'that's because the meeting is where they normally would see you.'.
well, if they want to see you they can arrange a meal out or something.

Doing the Right Thing, Making a Choice (shunning)
by Simon incontinuing a topic that is dear to my heart because of my experience as both a shunner and a shunnee .... some people seem to get very agitated when i talk about the responsibility people have to make the right choices and that despite all the wrongs within the wts, people themselves have a role to play and some personal responsibility for the experience.. notice i said "some" responsibility, not "complete" - this doesn't absolve the wts for the things they do wrong in any way shape or form.
so please don't get argumentative about possible meanings and absolutes - of course the wts has a significant role to play but we need to decide what we're trying to achieve here and why the personal choice is so important.. i'm also not talking about actual crimes that the wts should answer for.
if they cover up child abuse for instance, they absolutely should be reported immediately.

Imagine if individual JWs just started saying no.
No to shunning.
No to prying questions.
No to dragging their families to RCs
No to dishonest recruiting methods.
Yes to whole blood if needed.
Yes to immediate reporting of child abuse.
Yes to self expression.
Yes to researching this religion and the bible.
You have the power, it's called free will.
