  Recent study links processed meats to cancer

  so a recent study says processed meats are just as dangerous as cigarettes when it comes to cancer.

  the wtbs has had a long time stance that smoking is a df offense.

  my question is if there's proof beyond doubt, why doesn't the wtbs make eating processed meats a df offense?.

  Special Pioneer Couple Living at a Kingdom Hall In Miami FL, get the dreaded Letter

  just got a phone call from an older sister saying that a couple that got re-assigned from bethel 4 years ago to live at their kh apartment as special pioneers, just received a letter saying "as of january 2016, your special pioneer assignment will be discontinued".. they live in a south miami kh(snapper creek congregation).. this couple had only served in bethel for 15 years before they were sent out into the special pioneer work.

  they are now in their mid 50's and the sister said that they have to find part time jobs to support themselves.. the older sister (does not have a pc or internet), says that the couple are just devastated!

  In one of the JW broadcasts of the last few months they featured the experience of woman so depressed because she was only reg pioneer and wanted to be a special pioneer...whaaaaaaat (scratching head)

  They would have known this was coming when that damn experience was aired.

  Seriously? They know exactly what they are doing.

  How do you justify belt-tightening to people who for years have been told that Jehovah's blessing = the org having enough $ to do whatever the hell it likes?

  I bet the reponse from the axed bethelites was "heartwarming," what other choice do they have, complaining is not allowed.

  So much for "being ready to make a defense for your faith."

  Why do they even bother seting up info stands on the street? What a joke.

  Did make me think though, when I went witnessing I always talked to the person other witnesses ran from, "difficult"

  people or householders never scared me off. I can look back now and feel good about that. That I dignified those people with a response. And they would thank me for it.

  Why JWs record and report time?

  okay, so yes, i'm a born-in, but this point has always baffled me (and i guess i never bothered to research or ask).

  what is the purpose of counting time in service?

  when was it started and why?

  Partly for control, but there would be other reasons. Mandatory reporting of fs time adds to the illusion that they have authority.

  If people are obligated and entangled it makes it much harder to leave. And judging by the amount of people under WT control it's very effective. Even people who are fully awake continue to report to avoid the consequences of not reporting. So yeah reporting serves a useful purpose - for them.

  Yes, disfellowshipping and shunning more than likely for her.

  Do you know anything about JWs?

  If not, you need to. JWs are a cult, and you would be marrying into a cult if she decided to stay with the religion.
