The now famous "not stategic from a human standpoint" line fits pefectly with what they doing now, reducing their physical presence rather than increasing it with their usual bigger = blessing mantra.
Now shrinkage = the end is nigh.
i don't really engage in doctrinal discussions about jw's anymore.
they seem to say some pretty crazy stuff.
but i have read some threads discussing doctrinal changes and how watchtower is really out of ideas and money at the same time.

the generation that will be no means pass away have passed away.. the 144,000 were sealed up in 1935, oh, no wait, we got that wrong, we still have some.. russel is the faithful and wise servant... oh, no he wasn't it was me, rutherford... no, actually, we got that wrong it's knorr... erm, no we mean the governing body.. shunning is pagan, true christians would never do that (1946)... oh, actually, we should do that too.. the revelation book has been re-written.. the un is the satan's visible organisation.. wtbs signs up for fellowship with the un in 1991.. exposed in the guardian newspaper so ends it's fellowship in 2001.. the greatest man book is now obsolete and replaced with another jesus book.. the mags are reduced in pages.. encouraged to use tablets instead of actual books to save paper (money).
halls being sold off.. congregations sharing halls.. society owned buildings being sold off.. video pertitioning for money only last year to fund a new building.. bethelites reduced.. missionaries sent back home.. young members leaving.. long time members discovering the history and leaving.. how long do you think this religion has left?
i cant see it being here in another 100 years.
The JW religion, like any other business will be around for as long as it's useful as a cash cow.

To me everything about what they doing at the moment screams planned stategic withdrawal. I feel they have had to accelerate their original timeline for some reason unbeknownst to us, but I say they always planned to liquidate assets and head to the bunker under the guise of "the GT is upon us" and yeah, I suspect we are nearing that time.
That's my thoughts anyway, but I also could be completely wrong and they have something else up their sleeve.
As always time will have to tell us cause WT won't.
i`m just wondering , not that it worry`s me too much since i dad myself , but maybe some people would/should be concerned .. is it possible the gb are monitoring who they can identify as apostates on the internet ?.
or am i being paranoid.. how about an over-zealous wannabe elder who wants to make a name for himself by dobbing in some poor brother./sister who stumbles across a site like this on the internet.. maybe it`s not the gb , we need to worry about, maybe it is the r&f members who are spying /watching/monitoring their fellow brothers and sisters to see if they are worth reporting to the elders .. of course with the intention of keeping the congregation clean , while hiding their own transgressions .. dont ask questions outside the box./ dob in your bro, or sister ,who you suspect of impropriety and hope to get brownie points.. smiddy.
I wouldn't put it past WT to set up some strategic "controlled opposition" fake apostate website if they felt the whole apostate thing was getting out of control and starting to hurt them.
Set up a fake site, gather info on what apostates are saying, damp down fires by playing down WT's dastardly deeds, and then have targeted talks and broadcasts on jwdotborg to counteract any negative talk and maybe even make them appear be ahead of the negative talk with their hotline to holy spirit...etc etc that sort of thing.
Not so far fetched in my mind, all's fair in love and theocratic warfare is how they would see it.
They would get off on it actually, give them fond memories of cold war era America and make them feel special again.
i didn't attend the meeting last night, but my in husband came home and was quite shocked because there was a letter announcing that there will be no wt-library cd-rom any more, and..... no more calendar.. he said there was a lot of talking and noise when that was announced.. i didn't expect the calender to go, by the way.
and my husband sounded really concerned, talking about how society is cutting down.
i love it when he says with a tone of surprise in his voice: 'you were right, now they want us to do everyting digital, and throw out the printed stuff.
With very little if any literature to place how much longer before official online witnessing is all the rage?
.... i just looked through some videos on the scientology and the mormon youtube channels.animated whiteboard animations, bad acting, compelling music...it's all the same as jw.org...or the other way around.the similarity is very striking to me.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghjomvjadbghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxf3pwvjoka.
i wonder why that is....
Orphan Crow we need your research superpowers.
so after almost a year of complete inactivity and non attendance, i ran into a nice brother from the local congregation.. after some nice chit-chat, he says "we really miss you and your family...etc...you were always the kind and supportive one, the approachable and encouraging one in the congregation.
your absence has confused so many".
i thanked him and said "oh no, no individual has stumbled us.
The TATT will piss you off first, then make you think, then make you research, then set you free.
what do you guys think?.
are they only some uber religious zealots or do they pursue hidden agendas beyond religiosity?.
Fulano - why, would meeting them in person make a difference?

Same shit different assholes.
Same kool-aid different flavour.
Same mind-mushing propoganda different cult.
...I could go on all day with this, it's quite fun....
current media attention in new zealand is focusing on the case of a woman whose male friend died three months.
she received a handwritten letter personally addressed to her and her deceased friend with a series of questions about what happens after death.
the woman was furious and, accompanied by news media, door-knocked the address provided by the letter writer.
I coud never bring myself to tell some grieving person I met in the D2D work that their loved one was not in heaven. It just seemed cruel and insensitive to bring these things up in their time of grief.
I always felt like I was being a bad witness, bad, bad witness tsk tsk, for it though.
