  2018 Annual Meeting

  does anybody have any word on the 2018 annual meeting?

  i assume something new will be rolled out, since they are having all the congregations do special weekend streaming.. my guess is that there will be some major "new light" concerning the memorial, partaking, anointed, etc.

  i would guess that they will say all baptized believers should partake.

  Orwellian change of the history(Again)

  well, this month's jw broadcasting had a curious piece of history class.

  samuel herd was there, but i don't remember if it was him that presented it.

  the theme was "how it was to be a jw in the years 1900.".

  You gotta hand it WT they sure know how to have just enough contradictory info so nobody knows what's true.

  Even if photos of events are displayed the context, information, commentary, explanation and interpretation of the very same photo changes.

  Special Talks now via video

  tired of listening to your local elders giving the "special" talk ever year after the memorial?

  well don't worry, as of next year we will be spicing things up for your enjoyment.. not only will we be having the talk before the memorial (i know, wild huh), but we will be treating you to the talk via video starring our famous speakers from bethel so you can see how a talk should be given (after all bethel does boast the best speakers in any country, right?!).

  here's a copy of the text from our latest letter as i'm sure that with so much excitement you won't believe it at first!.

  2018 Special Talk Outline: “Who Really is Jesus Christ?”

  the talk outline “jesus christ—earth’s new ruler” has been discontinued and should no longer be used.

  it has been replaced by “who really is jesus christ?”note: this is the special public talk outline for 2018. the talk will be given in most congregations the week of monday, march 19, 2018.. .

  Who Really Is Jesus Christ?

  That will be a short talk, now how would it sound if they were being truthful...

  As we are Jehovah's Witness not Jesus Witnesses we don't give a shit about who Jesus is.

  We only refer to the name if we really have to in special circumstances such as a hook to lure new converts to talks or to convince outsiders we are a Christian religion.

  As Jehovah's people we much prefer Moses and Abraham and if we need a quote from the Christian Greek scriptures our go-to homeboy is Paul.

  Paul spoke some excellent smack useful for cults today.

  well.....they showed that shunning video again.

  you know...the one where goldilocks gets disfellowshipped- and the parents look across the hall at her with disdain.....yeah that video.. i was interested to see what kind of answers would be given during the discussion after the video and some of the reactions.

  everyone sat there gormlessly staring at the video.

  New "Annointed" Brother In My Old Hall...

  i've only just stopped laughing.. in my old hall there's a brother who's now claiming to be of the anointed.. he's 28.. i do wonder if he's doing this for attention, if he's awake and messing with them, or if he really is that deluded.

  when i was in he was an ms. which surprised even me because only a year earlier than that he was "a bit of a lad", is rubbish at talks and relies on his elder uncle to get him out of trouble all the time.. i guess this now means he's get his pick of jw sisters.

  he's been after the same one as the rest of his peers since 2014..

  so i am reading from many that they have an excellent thought-stopper for jw's.

  (remember reasoning from the scriptures used "thought-stoppers?

  )"if you just show them [this scripture or use this logic or expose this problem with the organization], you will shut them down.".

  I ran into a JW at the supermarket this morning and as she was coming towards me down the aisle she was doing the "I don't see you" thing they do (we were the only two people in the aisle walking towards each other).

  As I reached the point where we were side by side I said "hi, how are you" to my surprise she responded strangely eagerly. I asked how her family was and she just started telling me how her husband has been suffering with bad depression and is struggling to get to meetings, he even missed the convention because he "couldn't face it."

  She seemed close to tears as she was blurting all this out. I hadn't planned on saying anything re "the truth", doctrine or otherwise because it's like trying to reason with a zombie. I just let her talk herself out and thought to myself screw it these guys are hurting I 'm going to say something.

  I told her that my own depression had eased considerably when "I took a break from the meetings it was like the messsage there wasn't good for my mental health."

  She said "Oh that's not what's happening with my husband he still believes it's the truth."

  Me: "You don't think the constant pressure to perform and reach out wouldn't be weighing on him?"

  Her: " Yes he feels the pressure but the meetings don't cause those feelings they happen internally from inside the person."

  Obviously in severe denial. I decide to let it slide and pivot the conversation away from him.

  Me: "And how are you coping?"

  Her: " It's so hard." Again, tears in her eyes.

  Me: "It is ok to look after yourselves for a while you know. The meetings will still be there when you're both feeling better."

  Her:" Oh we do miss you at the meetings we really do."

  Me:" Oh thanks that's nice of you to say." (Never heard from them since I stopped going).

  The store was beginning to get busy so I begged off at this point and I'm hoping she went home and thought about it. But at the end of it I felt I didn't need to say anymore than that. She wasn't even willing to acknowledge the "do more" message existed.

  Living in that dub environment of no life, no personal identity constant Jehovah this faithful slave that hypnotic broadcasts with spinning globes and droning voices I'm surprised the number of young people now claiming to be annointed isn't higher.

  Hey PE just a slighly off topic thought but would it be posible to wake someone up from their cult indoctrination via hypnosis?
