I myself had the misfortune of a JW woman spotting me in the supermarket yesterday and deciding me being hemmed in by a shopping trolley and otherwise occupied by placing sweet potatoes in a bag was a good time to preach at me by listing all the reasons why the end is even nigher now ....... meanwhile đ´đ´đ´

What would you do or say?
by Butyoucanneverleave ina brother who is not baptized ( so there's still hope for him ) had a sister recently run into him at a store.
show wanted to know if he's going to the kingdom hall.
she asked him to write a letter for her to give to his mother ( who's deceased) in the paradise explaining why he didn't make it.

What Privileges do you get when you are baptized ?
by LOLS inmy husband was baptized at the recent 2018 convention in south africa ....... he was very annoyed that his non-believing wife did not attend the baptism....... but i think he received pressure from his jw father & elders as to why his wife was not attending ....... anyway ..... it's really water off my back .
i wanted to know what privileges you get as a baptized jw man , as i saw a message from one of the elders at his cong , congratulating him on his baptism and to earning more privileges ..... what are these privileges the elder is speaking about ,,,,, .
i don't feel like asking my husband as it just lands up in a stupid fight ..... or a long winded explanation ..... thanks .

My only advice would be
Stand your ground.
Don't let him bully or emotionally blackmail you into doing anything up you don't want to or stop you doing things you enjoy doing.
Remember this is his cult, his obligation not yours.
He will try to guilt you into joining him in his delusion, so be prepared.

Never a good idea to have sex with anyone too drunk to remember, even if they make the first move, so, just consider it a bullet dodged and move on.

2+2=5
Please show me where I said "princess" Serena was ugly or I called anyone racist?
I did not call SW ugly or anyone a racist anywhere.
If you would care to read my comments slowly and carefully and employ your powers of comprehension and reason you might avoid living up to your namesake of 2+2=5 or in this case 25
Alternative explanation for your unwarranted smack on my nose with a rolled up newspaper for my completely reasonable and intelligent comments is possibly sarcasm on your part so...
If your post was intended as sarcasm ignore this post.
Thankyou.

Ugh, I 'm so tired of being misread on this forum. Lemme splain it.
I did not say nor do I think cartoonist should be banned in anyway I 'm just observing a trend towards PC culture increasing the chances of cartoons and caricature depictions being too contentious for newspapers to carry. Possibly in the future.
Yes yes yes you are correct it is PC madness it's a bloody cartoon that's how they're drawn! Cartoonish!

Not viewed as a JW if not reported for 6 months?
by kramer inhi, i seem to remember that the society have said that you are not viewed as a witness if you have not reported for 6 months.. does this ring any bells?
someone i know has been called for a judicial, even though she has said she doesnât believe and is not not attending meetings and hasnât for 6 months.what she did was 12 months ago when she was a witness.. she is not sure whether she should turn up or not, as turning up shows she thinks she answers to elders still.
but also doesnât want to be automatically disfellowshipped which may happen if she doesnât turn up.. if there is an article to quote saying someone inactive isnât seen as a witness, this would be helpful.. any thoughts?.

I 'm pretty sure a warning letter from a lawyer will halt any action before it begins.

Unsung Movie Villains
by LoveUniHateExams inwe all know the big movie villains get a lot of credit and appear in multiple movies - the shark in jaws, darth vader, and before them dracula, wolfman, frankenstein's monster, etc.. but there must be plenty of villains that get forgotten.. i thought clarence boddicker (played by kurtwood smith) was fantastic in robocop (1987) - a real psychopath.. another character who springs to mind is vilos cohaagen (ronny cox) in total recall (1990), i thought he was very good too.. obviously these and other movie villains do get some critical acclaim but they don't get their own franchise and they rarely get universal praise.. maybe 'unsung movie villains' is the wrong phrase but hopefully you get what i'm trying to say!

Watchtower disputes $200K tax bill from Newburgh
by Rattigan350 inhttp://www.recordonline.com/news/20180904/watchtower-disputes-200k-tax-bill-from-newburgh.
town of newburgh â the watchtower bible and tract society of new york is challenging nearly $200,000 in fire and other special district taxes assessed for three town of newburgh properties, including two hotels the organization bought to house volunteers helping build its world headquarters in warwick.. in a petition filed in orange county court last month, the umbrella organization for jehovahâs witnesses claimed that the town âeither unintentionally as a mistake or intentionally and without lawful authorityâ miscoded the former hilton on crossroads court and the former hampton inn on route 300 for 2016, 2017 and this year.. with a combined market value of nearly $23 million, the hotel properties were not assessed town, county and school taxes for those years.
but the town assessed $196,000 charges for the orange lake fire district and lighting and water districts during those years.. newburgh also assessed $1,600 in special district taxes over three years for a vacant commercial property watchtower owns at route 17k and route 300.. âpetitioner would not be required to pay the resulting unjust charges if its exemption from taxes had been justly, correctly, and lawfully granted and administered,â watchtowerâs attorneys wrote in the organizationâs petition in county court.. watchtower bought the two hotel properties in 2014 as it built its 1.6 million-square-foot headquarters on kings drive in warwick.
