for almost 40 years, among other predictions for that year, 1914 had been looked to as the end of armageddon, false religion, and all governments, and the beginning of paradise on earth and the resurrection.

Why October 2?

It isn't new moon/beginning of the Jewish month nor is it full moon, so why did Russell pick that day to declare the Gentile times had ended? I understand that October is chosen because of Gedaliah's murder, but all we know is that it was in Tishri. The Bible doesn't pin it down further than that and it's entirely speculation that the murder and the Jews' flight to Egypt occurred in the first half of the month.

Then we have this:

Do we actually know when the Gentile times were supposed to have ended? Was it October 1, October 2 or October 4/5, 1914?

I was one of the countless who exchanged correspondence with him and he helped me through a very rocky time in my 'awakening.' Even though his and his wife Cynthia's health wasn't good, and we can imagine how inundated he must have been with people contacting him left, right and center, he still took the time and trouble to write, to offer insights, Scriptural wisdom and a wider perspective on what I was going through. I wish he (and indeed both of them) were still with us.

Should the constitution be amended to make being and adherent of Islam a crime?

since isis is killing people in the middle east and apparently they are invaded the rest of the earth with their hateful beliefs should we as americans take the steps necessary to amend the constitution to say something along the lines of .

congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion except in regards to islam, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof except in regards to islam; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble except in regards to islam, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.. .

Yep. Just because one disagrees with a religion or set of beliefs, it doesn't give that person the right to infringe upon or destroy that right to a person's religion or set of beliefs, or the other rights and freedoms outlined in the Declaration. Yes, ISIS is breaking Article 30 by infringing upon and destroying others' rights and freedoms, but it is a radical, fundamentalist group within Islam. The majority of Muslims just want to practice their religion and live peaceably.

kingdom hall of jehovah's witnesses with flag in chile.. in chile, for its fiestas patrias celebrations, the flag must be flown in every building, otherwise, a fine is paid.

the fact that the jehovah's witnesses in chile are flying the flag in chile is against what they are normally known for, that is, political neutrality, and shows a double standard.

I would like to think that the back part of the building is occupied by another person / business etc... It has its own door...

That's the back door of the KH. It's part of an extension adjoining 6301 Juan Planas - a private residence with a satellite dish. The flag is most definitely attached to the main KH auditorium part. On a Google Earth image taken in the summer (Feb.), you can make out the holder on the side of the KH roof meant for the flag pole and where the video shows the flag flying.

The society could not keep the majority from using it with all the warnings, so they realized it was just a matter of time when the jws making use of Facebook would wonder off to some apostate site just out of curiosity. ...

... The society is recognizing that there are too many apostate elders who will leak information over the internet. ...

... The society knew that the internet boom would cause them trouble so they had been taking counter measures to keep secrets of organization history locked away.

the WTS pushed the issue to stop apostate talk and find out who are the ones who post anonymously and have them disfellowshipped. The WTS has finally reached an agreement with FB to enforce the true identity policy for anyone who wants to use facebook.

Why would FB share any private information with the WTS? If no law has been broken - only a contravention of FB's own rules - FB would disable the account. WTS has no legal claim on private information.

He said there is instructions that will be relayed to the Body of elders through the circuit overseers to review FB and youtube every week and they can count time for field service to see if any members in their congregation are posting negative information and to deal with such individuals judicially and get them out of the organization.

As if the elders have enough hours in the day to snoop around searching through congo members' FB pages! Besides, if there was negative information on the WTS, do they think a JW will be dumb enough to post under their own name or not have the posts' visibility restricted?

The email report doesn't ring true. Scaremongering.
