It's not you.
My comment on another thread:
Some creepy moments, especially when he was trying to commend the target audience - the youth. He said twice(!), "Young ones, you are loved by Jehovah and his organization." Evidence for Jehovah's and the GB's love for "little children" (the way he said that made me recoil - brrr!) is the Caleb and Sophie videos apparently.

TV Evangelism—God’s Way?
If Jesus Christ were on earth today, asserted TV evangelist Jim Bakker, “he’d have to be on TV.” Why television? Because, according to Bakker, “that would be the only way he could reach the people he loves.” Like Bakker, an increasing number of fundamentalist preachers in the United States feel that television is the best medium for spreading the Word of God. Yet, a 1984 study showed that, for the most part, TV evangelists “reinforce people already committed to evangelical religion.” ...
... If Jesus laid such emphasis on this method of preaching [going to people's homes] in order to make disciples, why do many evangelists prefer TV as their medium? The Courier-Mail of Brisbane, Australia, notes that TV evangelists “make up to $120 million a year selling salvation. They appear in a blaze of electrified power and glory on 300 TV stations, and are worshipped like pop idols. . . . For all their tactics, these men who claim to manipulate even God, come down in the end to a straight business deal. Send them $10 and they will send you to heaven.”

"I am ... totally awesome."
His delivery, gestures, voice emphasis and camera technique need work. On the whole, wooden and insincere. I guess this is the result when those unfamiliar with broadcasting stray into that domain. Maybe he'll improve. Maybe not.
And although this flash new studio has been knocked up in Brooklyn, the fixtures and fittings will be transferred to Warwick so "it's an investment that we're hopeful with your support can be used on into the years ahead" What years ahead? Oh that's right. Somehow, Armageddon, global destruction and worldwide chaos will not affect internet connection or the functionality of their very own telecoms company.
And is the video at the end a nod in the direction of Christian pop?
The whole deal is surreal.

The Gentile times have ended; their kings have had their day.
by Londo111 indear jw,.
on october 2, 1914a hundred years ago todaycharles t. russell announced, the gentile times have ended; their kings have had their day.
for almost 40 years, among other predictions for that year, 1914 had been looked to as the end of armageddon, false religion, and all governments, and the beginning of paradise on earth and the resurrection.

Londo, your excellent post got my head firing:
Why October 2?
It isn't new moon/beginning of the Jewish month nor is it full moon, so why did Russell pick that day to declare the Gentile times had ended? I understand that October is chosen because of Gedaliah's murder, but all we know is that it was in Tishri. The Bible doesn't pin it down further than that and it's entirely speculation that the murder and the Jews' flight to Egypt occurred in the first half of the month.
Then we have this:
*** w75 11/1 p. 661 par. 15 The Time for Choosing God as Sovereign ***
This fact of universal interest has been true since the year 1914 C.E. In that year “the times of the Gentiles,” or, “the appointed times of the nations,” ended about October 4/5, when counted from the desolation of Jerusalem and the land of Judah by the Babylonians in the year 607 B.C.E.
*** w71 12/1 pp. 717-718 par. 1 What Its “Right Condition” Means for Us Today ***
The Gentile Times had begun about the middle of the lunar month Tishri in 607 B.C.E., and so their 2,520 years of duration would end in 1914 about Tishri 15, which corresponds with October 4/5.
*** w68 12/15 p. 749 par. 37 “Your Deliverance Is Getting Near” ***
We need not here repeat the proof that the Gentile Times, “the appointed times of the nations,” ended around October 1, 1914. History proves it!
*** w64 11/1 p. 651 par. 19 Jerusalem—“A Burdensome Stone to All the Peoples” ***
Because in the seventh Jewish lunar month of that year, or about October 1, 1914, the “times of the Gentiles” ended.
*** w50 7/15 p. 216 par. 1 Postwar Enlargement of the Theocratic Organization ***
October 1, 1914, on taking his place at the breakfast table in the Brooklyn Bethel dining-room, he [Russell] in a strong voice denoting conviction announced: “The Gentile Times have ended!”
Do we actually know when the Gentile times were supposed to have ended? Was it October 1, October 2 or October 4/5, 1914?

Thanks for sharing
I was one of the countless who exchanged correspondence with him and he helped me through a very rocky time in my 'awakening.' Even though his and his wife Cynthia's health wasn't good, and we can imagine how inundated he must have been with people contacting him left, right and center, he still took the time and trouble to write, to offer insights, Scriptural wisdom and a wider perspective on what I was going through. I wish he (and indeed both of them) were still with us.
