Did Jesus disassociate from Judaism? Do we need to DA from the borg?

is 'formal' disassociation from the borg a scriptural prerequisite?.

do we have scriptural examples of written statements for disassociation?.

or is it all a jw concept?.

The apostle Paul was called an apostate and because he tried 'damage limitation' strategy in the Temple, he ended up before the Sanhedrin and was going to be killed. I think that counts as disfellowshipment.

Internet use and the dubs

just wondering if anyone is aware of a clamp down coming down on internet use with the dubs?

just talking to my parents tonight and there was some mention that "big brother" wt organization will be shutting down any dub web sites.

i guess i wasn't to popular as i said, "god created us with a brain to think amd it would be the most divine thing if we used that brain to think for ourself".

Dubs don't tend to be as easily controlled as in yesteryear. The WTS cannot conceivably control internet activity. They might try - through fear and guilt-tripping - but it would be like trying to stop a waterfall with a cork. They could never make it a df'ing offense - there would be uproar, else everyone would go deeper underground.

and that most of it is caca.

in all seriousness i do think there is spys who do snoop around in this site as well as other ones, and tell the rest of the elders who is being naughty or nice.

well, after four elder meetings at 2 hours a pop, they sill want to get together with me.

the last meeting i told them to give me scriptural backing that disproves that the 70 years ended when babylon fell as spoken of at jer 25: 10,11. i also asked for scriptures to prove why they insist on 607 rather than 587 as the fall of jerusalem.

they said they would do that and get back to me.

It certainly does look like the heat is on for you! I sympathize. However, the heat needs to be turned down a little.

The key: respect and empathy for each other's viewpoints, as well as PATIENCE!

You are desperate for your wife to see things as you do. She is desperate to cling on to what she's always known. Don't forget that in her eyes the WTS are 'God' - powerful motivator! This conflict between your outlooks is causing damage.

OK. My husband read a lot and saw errors in the WTS many years ago. He became edgy and depressed. I thought he was going out the troof. I was going to carry on as a JW regardless of what he did. Thankfully, he didn't try to persaude me to his views - it would have alienated me from him. I did ask him what was on his mind sometimes, but I didn't 'get it', so those kinds of conversations were few and far between. We still had enough in common outside the WTS to have a good marriage.

It's only in recent years, that on my own, I decided to look into the stuff he did. I have now come to the same conclusions as he has, and some new ones he doesn't hold!

You know that believing JWs say that unbelieving marriage mates should be 'won without a word', by seeing their reasonable, good conduct? It works in this situation too.

Your wife may come round eventually, in her own time, when she's ready. In the meantime, you continue to be a loving, compassionate husband.
