Unethical quote from Nature, the magazine?
by Fatfreek ini just emailed the following to the editorial department of nature, the magazine.
a religious magazine, watchtower, 1998 6/15 p. 28, in their article true justice -- when and how?, quoted your journal nature in order to shore up their lack of support of the use of dna in courts of law.
moreover, the magazine nature notes that not all scientists agree on the interpretation of forensic evidence.

Thank you, too, for the links and information. They are well known to me. I copied the whole website content of quotes, a short time before they are closed by the WTS. ;-))

Hi, are there any scans of these two Awake! articels in 1966 and 1968 ?? I'm very interested to get good scans ... because everybody says: "The society never said '1975' in it's literature!"
And another information about the journalistic ethics: At the attached screenshot of the website of sigma delta chi foundation you find the name "James Pellechia" as a member and donor in 2001. I'm not sure, but i think, somebody here said, that this is THE James Pellechia, public affairs director of the Watchtower Society.
"The Society of Professional Journalists is the nation’s most broad-based journalism organization, dedicated to encouraging the free practice of journalism and stimulating high standards of ethical behavior." (http://www.spj.org)

The same document can be found on the UNHCR-Server:
go to http://www.un.org/search/index.html
and search for "European Association of Jehovah"
or go directly to http://www.unhchr.ch/huridocda/huridoca.nsf/0/66cf0523c6217c4b802567cc002f8b0e?OpenDocument
The "European Association of Jehovah?s Witnesses for the Protection of Religious Freedom" is an unambiguous evidence that even organizations were set up for the international representation of political interests. Please do not misunderstand: nothing against the fight for human rights or for the rights of minorities - but if every other religious organisation is bad doing so - why is it good, if the WTS is doing it.Sorry for my terrible englisch !

There is a comprehensive german documentation in .pdf-format about the connection between the watchtower society and the united nations on the website http://www.infolink-net.de/docs/politik/WTG-UN2.pdf
And also a documentation about the abuse-policy of the watchtower-society at http://www.infolink-net.de/docs/politik/WTG-missbrauch2.pdf
Maybe there is somebody who writes something similar in english language.

w76 12/1 p. 711 Can an Image Bring Peace and Security? ***The New Catholic Encyclopedia states: "Recent pontiffs have stressed the necessity of international organization and the principles that should guide it, and have praised the UN for its purposes and various programs and accomplishments. The Holy See maintains a permanent observer at the UN and contributes financial as well as moral support to many of its economic, social, scientific, cultural, and humanitarian programs. It participates as a full member or observer in a number of Specialized Agencies and participates in diplomatic and other conferences called by the UN. Sixteen Catholic international organizations contribute formally to the work of ECOSOC and various Specialized Agencies through the medium of consultative status with these bodies, and Catholic groups and individuals in various countries contribute to the formation of national policy and action with regard to the UN."—Vol. 14, p. 423.

A recent book gives an idea when it states: "No less than twenty-four Catholic organizations are represented at the UN. Several of the world’s religious leaders have visited the international organization. Most memorable were the visits of His Holiness Pope Paul VI during the General Assembly in 1965 and of Pope John Paul II in 1979. Many religions have special invocations, prayers, hymns and services for the United Nations. The most important examples are those of the Catholic, the Unitarian-Universalist, the Baptist and the Bahai faiths."
The "recent book" ist New Genesis, Shaping a Global Spirituality from Robert Muller, ISBN 1-680465-04-03, part 1, chapter 6, page 45-49
