i've chosen to "come out" for a moment just to talk about the 30 minute change in the public talk on sundays.
my father and brother are both elders, this change was a blow to them they enjoy giving encouraging public talks to the friends.

I too was raised as a "JW" bought it all until I found out they harbor pedophiles. (Dateline May 2002) They df'd the victims that told their store AFTER the show aired. Those victims exposed the WTBS because they didn't get the help they needed and didn't want other young children or teens to be sexual abuse victims either. I am sure Jehovah is NOT happy having his name attached to "pedophiles".

every now and then a day can put things into perspective.
i can be pissed because; a car driver cuts me off while riding a bike, verizon want me to pay bs charges on my phone bill, or thirdwitness is defending the watchtowers abuse policy.
but, today, my uncle fell down the stairs and shattered his skull.

You have to let them have their "rose colored glasses broken"...on their own. I mean: when they get tired of the NON LOVE their hearts will hurt. They will understand this religion is not all it is suppose to be. They will be willing to see a Dateline that exposes the pedophile stuff (that's what did it to me) But, they have to find out on their own....otherwise they have gone against Jehovah. (sigh)...

out of curiosity, i checked out the myjwspace site mentioned in an earlier thread to see if it was growing.
as of now, there are 64 members on the whole site, and a grand total of (all this) one post on the whole forum!
of course, without joining, there is no way to read those posts to cut and paste segments of it here to tear them apart.. they have a chat room where they claim all the people are jws, the topics are safe, and they can be themselves (as dull and preprogrammed as they can get).

i have been a lurker for the last year...finally got the courage to post.
i guess you could say that i have successfully completed a "fade", although that was not my initial intent.
due to my being in an "unscriptural" separation for a number of months, (that, combined with my paranoia, hence, the alias) i have been forced to go underground.

I am glad to see you love your wife and want her to get some "help".
Needless to say, this religion does induce a lot of low self esteem on women.
Let her go to a counselor when she is ready. Or the gym, as well. Meanwhile...take her out on dates and get her out of the house....Make her feel loved and important.

I think your topic deserves attention.
I post because I want people...anyone to read about what I have encountered as a former JW. I don't go out and advertise against it....Like me, they need to have their rose colored glasses broke...before they might start looking. We all know you can't say anything in the congregation with fear of being called an apostate, that includes feeling a lack of love.
I feel if a person comes on line...they are looking for answers and can be objective. A JW not feeling the love....might come here....thinking they are the ONLY person not feeling the love of the so called religion that only has it. They will find many (me included) that is candid about the non love I felt.
Hope you and your wife are doing well....keep posting so we know how you are doing...ok?

just announced on cnn.
saw her on larry king live last week and she looked awful.
A couple of days ago I saw her on TV and said she looked like the dead alive.
I feel bad for her pain....at least she is out of it now.
For those of us that have watched loved ones die of cancer, that is why I take pity on her. I watched my Mom die of cancer when I was 14...and she also, dropped a ton of weight a couple of months before she died. It is all too sad.
