After reading the first 2 chapters of COC...I finally got the "real history" of the WTBS (not what we were told in the Proclaimers Book)...I can tell you that was enough for me. After you read it, you can pm me and I will tell you exactly what I thought!!

ISOCF---is more in depth, and talks about more issues and retalks them so the people that still have doubts can be convinced. (I didn't need all the re-explaining, so I found it a little dry and boring). However, I agree with what was presented.

Keep doing your research. The fact that your husband has been inactive for a month (despite no doubts) is saying an unsaid message, "he probably has doubts too". Being that he has always been a JW...(like myself), when you first start feeling a little like "something is wrong" is a huge step for him. Also, he has been told that it is" the mouthpiece of Jehovah"...so he is scared. Don't push him...let him come to this on his on conclusions and research.

right now there's a friend who needs a friend in sydney.. you've all 'been there' and can help him thru' it.. what do you say to someone who knows in his head that the borg just isn't right, yet was brought up "in the troof" and so knows nothing else.. then the borg's inhumane judicial procedures can cause unspeakable mental anguish and emotional disturbance.

yet at this time there's simply no-one to turn to - a recipe for disaster.. so....would you give some words of reassurance to our new friend?

tell him what it's like to be free of the borg.

I personally want to welcome you to this board. I was in your shoes about a year ago, wondering the same things you are.

I was raised in the truth(tm) and at 10 became a reg. unbaptized publisher. At 17 I was baptized. I was very faithful. I was publishing as a baptized publisher for 29 years!

About 2 years ago, I saw the Dateline Special (USA) about the pedophile problem with the WTBS. I sat very shocked and appalled. How dare they complain about the Catholic Church when "they" had the same problem? My rose colored glasses began to come off!

Lack of love within all my moves all over the US, was also a proof that the (WTBS) was not living up to Christian standards.

So, a year ago, I started lurking here. Took me 6 months to start posting! I immediately felt like I belonged here more than at the KH...there are a lot of kind people that have suffered from such lack of love.

I hope to see you post when you feel you can. Please know that you have many "friends" here.

Wondering if any of those prosecutors have been JW's or seen personally how it destroys families and fosters hatred? Whether or not they have, that statement is right on the money!

I really appreciated your first post, the honesty was so genuine.

My doubts began almost 2 years ago when I saw the Dateline Special about the pedophile problem in the WTBS. I was raised in the truth(tm)....I only saw the last 10 minutes of the program, but it sure made the WTBS a huge hypocrite when they always knocked the Catholic Church for the same problem. I sat there thinking: How can I go in service now and hold my head up high? I couldn't. My rose colored glasses began to fall off! The real light began to get brighter!

The recent UN letter that you can access of the UN site was also an eye opener. Like you, me and Mr. CB are shaking our heads.

You will find this a great place for yourself as we have, if you ever have an opportunity to meet some of the posters, please do...
