I just received both of Steve Hassan's books: Combatting Cult Mind Control and Releasing the Bonds....
Wishing I would have had these before deal with a certain family relative....(you all know what I am talking about)....

okay, i know it is corny, but my daughter graduates college tomorrow, may 29th with a bachelor of arts degree, major fine arts.
she is an accomplished student and painter.
she took an extra year because while a full-time student she also worked 20-25 hours a week.. .

we all know the big problems with the wts, but what was the first thing that made you realise there were problems with the organisation ?
with me it was realitivly small stuff like an 8 year old getting baptised and a comment my best mates made about another of our friends asking if we should be hanging round with her as she might be bad assciation (she had just been reproved, but they had been mates 20 years).. .
how ever the first time i ever thought something was really wrong was when i was about 11 and my grand farther died, and mu mum wouldn't go to the funeral, i remeber thinking that surely it was better to say good bye properly than worry about if the service was in a church.. .
Watching the Dateline Special 2 years ago about the pedophile problem within the WTBS....I only saw the last 10 minutes...and almost fell off my couch....It was a rather "defining moment"....I could see the hypocrisy...we were no different than the Catholic Church.
Also, the serious lack of love being displayed....and our unloving, unchristian "welcoming" visit when we relocated. The elders said they had to see our publisher cards, cause WE might be pedophiles...I sat horrified in my own home to be treated this way. I knew Jehovah or his son did not approve of such a shepherding visit.
