Norwegian Lesbians and Sodomites - Let God Deal With Them?
by hillary_step inwhile thumbing through a 1948 wt recently i came upon a questions from readers that struck me as rather interesting.
it is a rather long read, for which i apologize, but bear with it and you will notice a wt dealing with issues of sexual activity in quite a different manner than they would today.. dear brethren :.
in the norwegian watchtower for april 15, 1947, we had a very fine article about marriage.

JWs Live In Their Own Little World
by minimus inone thing i'm convinced of is that jws live in their own little bubble.
the world could be in chaos around them but not missing a meeting is what's most important.
children of jws could be going thru teenage trauma or even molestation, but are they getting their "time" in??

I so totally agree with that comment. And I used to live in that world as well
I think back to key events in my life. Like when I was 11 and my Mom was very sick, missed quite a few meetings. The elders came over quizzing her why she missed so many meetings. My Dad couldn't work, she was so sick she couldn't work. They did give us a box full of food though....She died from bone marrow cancer 2 years later....NO wonder my Mom couldn't make many meetings.
One of my teenage sons needed surgery....he came home. One Sat. 2 elders, during field service, came to visit him. They spent 5 mintues with him. I shook my head thinking that my son who was very faithful in meetings and f. service only got a 5 minute visit? I think that is when I sat there for the first time in my raised JW life knowing that true Chrisitan love is more than a 5 minute visit.
I could go on and on and on about my realizations....
Now I try to live my life helping my sick neighbors by cleaning their house....staying with them to keep them company or running them to the clinic.....This is true Christian love..........not a 5 minute visit from elders.

Hi everybody! ^^
by Epsilon ini must say that i have been lurking around this place for a good long while.
to know that you are not alone in your quest to escape the watchtower is one of the best ways to actually do it.. right now i'm 18, but became an unbaptized publisher at 12. i blew those elders away with my skill at parroting back the wts doctrine, and for a while, i was faithful enough in service, which i didn't really enjoy, but i had to do it to live, right?
we went to meetings regularly, even thosugh i simply dreaded the boredom and the inevitable guilt i would feel.

When my daughter was 10 years old...
by NOdenial inmy 22 year old, married daughter came by to visit this weekend.
she was baptised 12 years ago - when she was only 10 years old.
... as a parent... what was i thinking back then?!

I must say that when my step daughter shared this info with NOdenial and I, I was "appalled" and"disgusted". This was sexual abuse....very inappropriate actions for someone WHO claims to have been appointed by holy spirit to be a spiritual leader.
Makes me wonder who else he has had inappropriate actions.
I guess if only one elder is there for baptismal questions that makes NOdenial's daugher's baptism null and void, based on the 2 witness rule?
Now, that's a thought, isn't it?????

Creative days
by rockhound ingenesis records that on the fifth creative day, the waters of the earth would teem with living creatures, and every winged bird would fill the sky.
at the beginning of the sixth creataive day, all the creatures that move along the ground were created.
keeping these texts in mind, i'd like to share with you some of my observations about this wonderful earth that have convinced me that the creative days of genesis were far longer than the 7,000 year long periods we were taught as jehovah's witnesses.
