  Why does God allow people to develop 'forbidden' special powers?

  something i have been wondering about lately.. whether you believe in god or not, are a christian or some other religion or no religion at all, i'd be interested in your opinion.. according to those who believe in the bible including most christians, god condemns the use of 'special' powers/abilities.

  for example, esp, tarot, astrology, consulting a medium, spells etc.

  however, if god created us, did he not give us the ability to develop and use such powers?

  The Disfellowshipping of Jane

  i was preparing comments on another thread and some strange memories started to surface.

  one that had haunted me years ago was the disfellowshipping of jan. she was a 30 something woman who had found herself single when her husband ran off with her good friend.

  jane was no angel herself though: a slim, suntanned, blonde headed, party girl who's life style had made her quite familiar with the judicial process, which is how jane and i became more acquainted.

  She is hanging with a sister who has been cheated on by her JW husband, then divorced him. We have a couple of those in our KH, so am sure that she is getting info fed into her mind from these ?friends? on how to protect herself from a conniving husband.
