I liked aspects of it. I really liked the part of seeing how someone treats kids, elderly, and their own parents. I tell this to my kids also: Consider if they are respectful to others. regarding the brothers looking at the phone, I don't think that was the issue so much as the fact that their friend was giving a talk and they didn't show support or repect by basically caring more about some amusing distrraction while he gave his part. They could have done that later. The young woman took note and good for her. I know it was staged, but it is nice to have anyone help with chores, open doors, show courtesy, etc.

Kinda Sad Re: Cart "Witnessing"
by Captain Schmideo2 inslightly redacted for privacy of those involved.. so, this is "park witnessing" in oklahoma.. the parks in this community are basically walking trails and some tatty playground equipment.
most of the time, sparsely used, and today was a very blustery day.. notice the justifying comment- "quite a few" checking out the cart.
i am sure they were..... .

My wife made a very wordly comment the other night
by Clambake inmy wife who is currently on maternity leave made a comment about luck she was to leave in canada because we get 52 weeks maternity at basically 40,000 per year.
she is not originally from canada coming from a country with basically no maternity leave.
i told her to make sure she doesn't say anything like that at kh.

I recall a pioneer who was separated from husband and with kids continued to pioneer when I was still study ing. At first I admired her, then when divorced she continued to try and pioneer while being in dire circumstances. I started to wonder why she clings to pioneering and puttng her kids in such a position if she could improve situation by working. I worked full time...long hours and wasn't I still acceptable. Since I was a convert, I guess this situation was new to me. Later at a CA she had a part and stated that she always prayed for help to continue pioneering and her prayers were answerd when, for example, one day she found groceries on her doorstep...attributed it to Jehovah. She also was on food stamps, welfare and stipend from ex, but that as not mentioned on from platform. I was upset tthat she was set up as a great example for us all to follow....This kept me from baptism for some time as I pondered but probably so distracted from work I didn't put it all together properly. I knew Paul worked to support himself. Why is it considerd so more righteous to pioneer if you cannot support yourself and must rely on handouts and government aide (paid for by tax-paying, working citizens)? -

Types attracted to the sect known as jehovahs witnesses.
by atomant inl have observed the types of people attracted to the sect are many times unbalanced, unstable, emotionally insecure types.the jdubs seem to home in like vulchers circling the prey ,preying on the vulnerables.they tried it on me when my father who was an elder died.promising that if you become a dub you will one day see him again.l said how can you promise that when you keep making false misleading predictions.l was wondering if others have observed this phenomenon.

I was a college educated, single, stable, non-addict convert who already didn't celebrate xmas (but didn't mind others holidays) due to commercialism and pagan roots and used Jerusalem Bible / Yahweh. I never believed in trinity either so those points resonated as well as explanation of 144,000 and second death. I was/am very social and was recovering from divorce and wanting to see family again vs. reincarnation ideas. It took me a long time to dunk as I hated treatment of women...but swallowed to make a decision and not be perennial fence-sitter. I figured I would figure it out and felt more comfortable and had more answers than most religions explored up till then (still young) . I do think being very attached to family and wanting assured promise to be reunited was strong lure....and I don't want to let that go. Also, dating a DF person who wanted to eventually get back and bring me with him helped push me in that direction though I thought i was being careful and checking all out. Internet would've come in handy during that time. Peace -

what began as a day of joy finding out that one of my lifelong friends had her baby, turned into a nightmare when her brother called me to let me know she had passed away after birth.

New here
by MarkofCane inhello and thanks to everyone for participating on this forum it has really been of much value, for those of you that post here know that your words are not lost you never know who is reading your expressions, lives are being changed and nonsense challenged.
iām not much of a writer so excuse my untrained writing style and grammar but i want to share my story to help anyone who is visiting here to see that we are real people, fathers, mothers, sons and daughters who have come here for answers, there is no agenda, just searching for truth.
i hope my story will help others as so many here have helped me..

Welcome! Yes, Internet tripping to seek help acter elders and friends could not sufficiently answer my quesrion led me here too...initially it was UN issue. I was in shock then sucked it in as husband and elder and MS friends tried to encourage me to stay true for kids and Jehovah....2013-4 changes led to second time I ventured online and allowed myslef to "slip" and read online....quite the rabbit hole.
