it's interesting how, in the story, the young man's jw aunt and uncle switch him from mormonism to the jw faith using third-party material (the nov 8, 1995 awake!

article), and he ends up becoming a jw after confirming on the official mormon website that the claims in the awake!

The current thrust of the WTBS is foreign- language congregational set-up in the US. In countries where the first lang. isn't Eng. there is a concerted move to preach in the vernacular. English speakers are unceremoniously being thrown into native lang. congregations. Eng. speaking congregations are being disbanded. The printing dept. is being decentralizedand set up in many parts of a country dpending on which region speaks which lang- Africa, China,India and the far East and a few island nations. It appears the "growth" in their numbers is mainly coming from these areas of the globe. Does this involve investment opportunities too?

it's not like i wasn't warned.

there was a thread that talked about the push to call on inactive ones.. thanks to the heads up here, i knew the motive for the call.. i don't think i even know that eld.

Strange , I got a call from an elder in the company of his CO a few days ago at work. Wanted to know if I was around to have coffee. Never has invited me for coffee in the years I have known him.Told him I was at the office. Said that since there were meetings on Wed and Sun he hoped to see me there. I responded with a noncomittal grunt. Didn't mention the CO was with him though. His voice sounded kinda highpitched as if he knew I knew what he was about, but just had to do his job. Funny how these geezers can't keep an even voice when trying their "Cloak and Stagger"stuff.

Elders attempted to catch me out

hey all,.

i had two elders just "drop in" yesterday...walked around the back of my house and all....rude....i happened to be home, and opened the door.... one is doing spring cleaning at his house, and so in general chit chat, they spoke of how we all dont need to keep the bound volumes or older mags anymore, as everything we need is on the website or cd rom.... i just casually said, "yes, but its nice to have the originals so we can see the original wording and info".

one of them snapped his neck spinning so quick, frothed at the mouth and said "what do you mean changes?...nothing changes!!".

Real Estates experts and bankers had already bugun predicting the housing collapse from early 2006. By mid 2006 loud whispers of the Impending recession had started to filter out of Wall Street. The real estate crash began to be felt acutely around the beginning of 2008.

RVW thanks for the correction. I understand yu speak of losses involving speculation by WBTS?

Q. Why have they sold property 13 years after the event? And why now when real estate prices are still trying to reach pre- 2007 levels? Why not between 2002-2006?

Way back in 2006 this same game was played at a smaller level in a third world country. 8 or 10 KH's were promised ( and I thought " where the hell are they going to get the money to buy so many properties when the price of properties in this city of this third world country is even higher than those in first world countries)."

And- blow me a paperbag- suddenly a property in the number one city of this country was sold. The KH's never got built. Congregations that were promised the KH's wre merged with others or had to disperse to other congregations.

One of the best properties they had was sold for far below its market price. At that time I had wondered at their stupidity in selling such a plum for pennies. When I heard of the congregations being made redundant two years agoI realized the hoax.

AND GUESS WHAT? The guy who takes care of the finance at that country's headquarters was brought to NY on two occations in the last three years! For reasons that are totally hush! hush!

Now that it is happening on such a large scale here I am inclined to think, " that was a trial run. This is the real deal." But ...the million dollar question... what is their end game? If they begin to club congregations together or begin mergers -maybe that will give us a clue as to whats going on.
