Are the Governing Body broadcasts promoted at Kingdom Hall meetings?
by nicolaou ina question for those still attending i guess but are all these new jw.telemuppet.org broadcasts advertised to the the rank and file or is it more of a background thing?.
i'm wondering because i just can't believe my 70 year old die-hard jw mum would ever see them if she wasn't sat down in front of a screen and someone clicked 'play' for her.
i really want her to see the wizards behind the curtain.

My partners hardcore JW mom said this "so now we're turning into all the other TV evangelists out there!", and her brother on a different isolated occasion said "so that's where all the moneys going" -

Cecil the Lion deserved what he got...That's right. I said it.
by cappytan inlions are notorious murderers of beautiful zebras, antelope and other graceful exotic animals.
cecil probably contributed to the deaths of hundreds if not thousands of animals.
what happened to him was justice.. you reap what you sow.

Marvin, the reason cats 'play' with their prey is they are actually trying to find the perfect opportunity to make the kill. Mice bites can often infect and kill a cat, so it's actually a protective instinct for the cat. -

what an interesting find for me
by sowhatnow inim sure to use this the next time i accidentally get sucked into an argument with someone.
im not ever understanding the idea behind any christian religion picking and choosing what they want to believe and follow, then have the nerve to claim they are right, when clearly this is obviously done.
here is a site that shows not only how bloodthirsty and evil the god of the hebrew bible was, but how more ridiculous it is for jws to follow one twisted 'commandment' about eating blood, not only reading it wrong, but then not to do all the other commandments, willingly , do they think they are ancient israelites ?

Suppose for a second that God did in fact do that to secure our salvation for all mankind, do you think it would have been worth it?
Also, if God truly is just, I believe he will also give those babies a chance at salvation too. Perhaps with resurrection or with the eternal souls being in heaven.

So your puny god was so afraid that babies would grow up and some of them might threaten one of Jesus' ancestors that he had all of them murdered while they were still helpless infants.
If you believe God knows the outcome of every possible event then he would know that those babies would grow up to threaten the bloodline. It's nothing to do with being afraid. He would have known for a fact what was going to happen if he did not do exactly what he did.
Yes you did.
No, no I didn't. Neither does the article. It states several combined factors would have led to damaging the bloodline.

I am still waiting to to to explain how the babies were a threat to human salvation. Could your god not protect the bloodline without murdering innocent babies wholesale?
I already answered:
If after 400 years they were still enemies, they'd be a high chance that the babies of the time would still grow up and continue to be enemies.
I never once said purity. I said it was about protecting the bloodline. By stopping threats to it which could have damaged it beyond repaid. Therefore your point about Ruth is irrelevant.cofty
You were very explicit earlier that it had to do with protecting the purity of the bloodline.I don't believe there are contradictions in the Bible, but there are things that are hard to understand. Also around creation etc I do believe a lot of what is detailed in the Bible is symbolism, so who knows how much of it actually happened. E.g. I am a firm believer in evolution.

If after 400 years they were still enemies, they'd be a high chance that the babies of the time would still grow up and continue to be enemies. For an all knowing God to know at some point these people will be a real threat to salvation, and then say to wipe them out for what they did 400 years ago still fits, as they're still just as bad as they were back then.
I agree that if the Bible is all non-sense then the reasoning would be similar to the Third Reich. But if you believe that the outcome of what happened did actually mean our salvation was secure that surely it would have been just. That, really is the only point I'm trying to make here. If you don't believe it, then you're probably right about God being an evil tyrant. Though one could still argue God works in mysterious ways and as being judge and as all have sinned he has the right to wipe out whoever he wants. Though, that's not something I'd want to argue. :)
I agree that people can use the Bible to support their twisted ethics. But I think that's only when they twist it to support what they believe, not what the Bible teaches.

If they weren't still enemies things would have probably been different. If they were repentant they would have been forgiven, but they weren't. They were still enemies. So it remains, if a few had to perish so that all man kind could have salvation then that would be just.
I see your points though, if you don't believe in God or that he is all knowing. If he didn't know those babies would grow up to be enemies and still present a threat to salvation then that god would be an evil tyrant. However, if he is all knowing, and just and had to do something to ensure we had salvation and that was the only option then it would be just.
