  The rate of increase has slowed, but it is still an increase. Even if this starts a decrease it would have to be a massive % to really affect their numbers. Currently it looks like it might start to decrease in the next 3-5 years, so they have time to do something about that.

  They also have almost 2 Billion hours preaching with even less % converts per hour. If only they would spend that time serving the community doing real charity work (never going to happen, I know), they actually might start having some real growth. That in my opinion, is the only way they could grow at this stage. My old church tried door knocking 50+ years ago and they quickly caught on it didn't work. Through their charitable work I've seen many people come in through the doors from that.

  Wow, that is a total invasion of privacy right there. I would have told them to back the f**k off. That's extremely rude, there's no way I would allow anyone to do that to me.

  It looks like she chose the organization over you. That's what the elders will basically force her to do. It's way better to find out now rather than in 1,10,20 years. You could still try and she may come back to you, but if she already chose them it's more likely she's totally in to it, and this would be a recurring thing. IMHO I would now run, she made her choice and you should make her stick to it. The only caveat to that for me would be, if she does come back to you, ask her to watch Steven Hassans combating mind control and ask her to do real research in to the organization before you would ever consider taking her back.. but be careful.. You should just save yourself of the trouble and more heartache now.

  i keep thinking about the time i will "come out" and tell my wife about this sick cult.

  i don't know when that day will come, but knowing me i will seat down with her and ask her for 5 minutes to explain to her why we as a family has to get out.

  my question is: what will you tell somebody in 5 minutes, that will convince that perdon that this is not a good religion to follow and that we have been deceived?.

  If it were me, I would come across as wanting to spiritually grow, and to tell her that I want us both to learn together, and truly understand everything we're being taught so we get grow closer to Jehovah together.. That would mean there would be no mental barriers go up and it would promote free thinking. Then approach a single subject at a time and in real depth. As you go through each one and realize this stuff just makes no sense or is based on lies or false evidence, hopefully it would just put too many doubts in their mind so that it cannot possibly the truth. No apostate material, just the Bible, WT material and the sources they site. Grab hard copies of the books they misquote with the 'innocent' intention of research and be shocked when it doesn't match up.. hopefully you can fake an awakening while they really wake up.

  Just some suggestions. I had a similar approach when waking up my JW partner.

  Luge62, I agree with Frazzled. I came to this site in a very similar situation, I was blind to most things JW even though I'd done a lot of research... that said, I didn't just run away as many people advised.. it's not that easy when you love someone as you know. But please listen still as this is not an easy path to follow. Fortunately I was able to wake my partner up to the truth about this cult, but it's still difficult. We live together but she has been shunned by all of her family for the past year, with no end in sight as she doesn't want to get reinstated.

  That is what this cult does, it divides families and breaks apart homes. There's is nothing good in it. I'm sure you love your woman, but be prepared for a long hard road ahead. If you get together and she stays in the cult, she will be forever trying to convert you, and if you resist she will start seeing you as belonging to satan. My partner thought for the longest time I was sent by satan to bring her out of the religion, that was pretty shocking to hear later on once she had woken up. She now feels bad that she thought that way, but it's how she was trained to think. Anyone not a JW is part of satans world..

  here is an idea i tested.

  works at both assemblies and conventions.

  i have noticed at the last convention and at my last assembly that when i opened up my wifi setting, tons of hotspots came up for people tethering their tablets to their smart phones.
