i meditate a couple days a week. i am not very good at it; i have yet to achieve deep meditation. But it relaxes me at the very least.

Meditation linked to increased age, health, and smarts?
by EndofMysteries ini recently read how advanced meditation increases the brains waves, higher frequency alpha waves which is linked to higher state of consciousness and intelligence.
now i saw this article, http://www.cnn.com/2014/07/10/health/can-meditation-really-slow-aging/index.html?hpt=hp_c3 that it also increases life and health, etc.
i haven't really read or researched meditation but i was wondering if anybody has got into it, into a 'non religious' aspect of it.

Roll call of those of us stuck in for our spouse or whos spouse is still in!
by BU2B ini just wanted to get a feel for how many here have awakened to ttatt but are still carrying on some jw activities to pacify them and keep the peace.
also trying to hear from those who have left, but whose spouse has stayed in the wt and in the marriage.. for me it comes down to my own mental anguish.
i am mentally tortured by attending the meetings, yet i feel compelled to because my wife would kill me with her personality if i had her drag 2 small girls by herself there.

my husband is now inactive, but still believes it and feels guilty about leading the "wordly" life we now lead. At first, i was like you. Going to the meetings was hurtful to me in the end. Finally i told my husband how i felt, not exactly all at once, but when the opportunity arose. He loves me, so he supported me in a way and told me to stop going if that is what i really wanted. i stopped right after that. He followed soon after.
I would just say tell your wife how you feel. you will feel mucb better.

Question for Faders
by Daniel1555 inhi friends.
i have some questions for all who are fading.. .
do your friends in the old congregation know, that you maybe don't attend the meetings in the new congregation?.

i have heard of people changing congregations, moving their publisher cards, attending a few meetings and then saying they have to move again (due to work, school, etc). then they move their cards again and never have to attend. it sounds pretty foolproof to me.
good luck :)

Finally learned how to live the REAL real life
by forest heathen insomeone suggested i post an introductory thread.
i am a married, rather young grandma of four precious rugrats, ages 2-9. i guess our only child son and his only child wife didn't want their own kids to be "onlies".
my other half and i married rather young (18 &22) and will be celebrating 31 years together this summer.. i am sort of add, keep thinking i am still 28, love my husband now more than ever, and am so glad i woke up and left the crazy cult.. my husband and i began studying months after marrying and then decided to take the dunk.

what a nice experience. It is nice when one can not be bitter and take the cult experience and realize that it made us who we are today. It is amazing that you all faded together without even planning it!

suggestions from Crisis of conscience
by monis1 inmy husband is inactive, but still very much believes in the borg as having the truth.
i now have coc in spanish.
i am currently reading it, but i would love to know if anyone can point me to any specifics.

thank you all for your comments and suggestions. i will check out "Captives of a concept" and "The search for Christian Freedom."
even though my husband became inactive quite soon after i did a couple of years ago, is still haunted by his guilt. we celebrate many of the holidays at my insistance. He consents because he loves me. My young daughter's birthday is coming up. i want to have a party. He doesnt. but, he probably will take part anyway, as he has in the past. I just wish he could be freed and see this cult for what it is. We dont talk much about the religion because it has been painful for both of us, but we are starting to talk about it, which is good.

He seems to be interested in/ affected by injustices by the elders. so maybe something along those lines.
i just wish that he could be freed from the guilt of not being active and from his desiring to "go back" someday.
