i'm not really sure what this charity 250 index is trying to do.

partly because i'd expect a few big household name charities to be on it at the top.

i've copied the table below - see positions 19 (up from 70) and 130 (up from 202).

If you add 19th place Watchtower's £52.3 million with 103th place IBSA's £28.7 million for a total of £81 million (US$103 million)

That places the JW's in the Number 1 position on the above Chart by a mile!

But what is the above Index Chart actually measuring?

"the repression that has already started, in my opinion, it is likely to continue to get worse," donald ossewaarde told baptist press april 27th by telephone from his home in oryol.

I thought the JWs believe that ALL religion was gonna be persecuted and destroyed in the timeline that moves forward to the great tribulation? - or have they changed that?

Charity Finance Charity 250 Index Constituent Review 2017: A new influx
This year's review of the constituents of the Charity Finance Charity 250 Index sees 23 new entrants, with six moving down from the Charity 100 Index and 17 moving up from outside the Indexes.
The highest riser within this year’s Charity 250 Index is the Challenge Network, which jumps 73 places from position 148 to position 75. Its annual income has almost doubled from £26.3m to £51.6m in the three years under review, resulting in an average of £38m.
Close behind the Challenge Network is the second highest riser, International Bible Students Association, which jumps 72 places from position 202 to position 130. Its annual income has more than doubled from £18.9m to £38.9m in the three years under review, resulting in an average of £28.7m.
The Association earns most of its income from voluntary donations and legacies from Jehovah’s Witnesses in over 1,600 congregations across the UK. It also received grants from Jehovah’s Witnesses in other countries including a £12m grant received in 2014/15 from a related charity in Germany.
The Association’s trustees describe “the voluntary support we enjoy from congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses” as consistent and reliable, making it unnecessary for the charity to engage in fundraising activities. Figures for the year ending 31 August 2016, which will be used to calculate next year’s ranking, do indeed show a healthy, albeit slower, pace of growth.

nypd undercover cop resigns as he struggles with grief from killing innocent man.

an undercover cop who fatally shot a bystander during a gun-buy operation has resigned from the nypd — too distraught to remain on the force, the daily news has learned.. the former detective, who sources say suffers from posttraumatic stress disorder, left the nypd in october with a tax-free disability pension.

City pays $1.1 million to family of man killed by NYPD cop's stray bullet while crossing Mount Vernon street
The city has agreed to pay $1.1 million to the family of an innocent bystander shot to death by an undercover NYPD cop during a sting operation went wrong, the Daily News has learned.
Felix Kumi’s widow agreed to the deal after filing a $20 million notice of claim against the city, accusing the cop and other police involved in the sting of negligence and violating NYPD policies. A notice of claim is the first step in suing the city.
Kumi, a 61-year-old school bus driver and father of three, was crossing a street in Mount Vernon at about 3:40 p.m. on Aug. 28, 2015, when he was shot in the torso by the officer. The devout Jehovah’s Witness who lived in the Westchester County city died nine hours later at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx.
The undercover cop — a detective who was never publicly identified by the NYPD and has since resigned from the force — was purchasing an illegal gun in a parked car as part of the sting. But during the sale, the officer and the gun seller were held up, according to court papers filed with the notice of claim.

that country that occupies a space between russia and china?.

kazakhstan is a landlocked country in central asia that shares borders with russia, china, kyrgyzstan, uzbekistan, and turkmenistan, and also adjoins a large part of the caspian sea.. kazakhstan is 70% muslim.

Jehovah's Witnesses member receives 5-year prison term in Kazakhstan for inciting religious hatred
Astana, May 2, Interfax - Court No. 2 of Astana's Saryarka District has convicted Jehovah's Witnesses preacher Teimur Akhmedov of "inciting ethnic, social, religious, family and racial hatred in collusion with a group of other persons" and has sentenced him to five years in a medium-security penitentiary, the court's press service said.

The court also banned Akhmedov from performing any religious ideological and preaching activities for three years, it said.

According to the case files, in 2016 Akhmedov and his accomplice, Asaf Guliyev, "organized religious gatherings involving the capital's residents recently recruited into the community at different apartments in the city of Astana."

During such meetings, in the presence of their followers, the two men publicly spoke negatively about representatives of Islam, Catholicism and Orthodoxy and said that one religion was superior to another.

During a trial in February 2017, Guliyev pleaded guilty to all charges, publicly repented and, given the mitigating circumstances, was given a five-year prison term.
