How serious is sexting

some of y'all may know why i am asking this, but i am curious about it.. sexting in the elders book says it's enough to warrant a jc but it's very loose at it... what's y'all opinion?

do elders care alot of it?

what if it's an old case?

How serious is sexting

that's waaay too general a question: you need to consider and define what you actually mean to ask -

What is the relationship between the two people? Are they married to each other, or to other people? Are they single?

What are the ages of the two people? Is one of them under 18 and therefore is it a criminal offense? It would then need to be reported to the police wouldn't it?

Here's an interesting scenario to consider:

+ Two 16-year-olds can have full-blown consensual physical sex - and that's totally ok and legal;

+ If one of them 'sexts' the other - well that's illegal, and a criminal offense that should be reported to the police.

It has been called the worst treatment disaster in the history of the NHS. More than 2,000 people died and thousands more were infected with HIV and Hepatitis C after being treated with contaminated blood products. All the victims were infected over 25 years ago, but even now new cases are still being diagnosed. Survivors and their families are trying once more to persuade the government to hold a UK public inquiry.
Panorama examines recently released documents, and asks if the government could have done more to save lives. The film hears the heartbreaking testimony of some of the victims and their families and explores the dilemmas of doctors who had to carry on treating their patients through the unfolding crisis.

an experienced j w of my acquaintance , who had best be nameless, urged me to watch this t v programme because it "proves the society were right all along in warning of the dangers of blood.. well, yes , it does in a way demonstrate that the potential dangers of blood products was not fully recognized.

in particular this is shown in respect of the aids/hiv virus which was a new threat when it occurred.. there were some important points deliberately ignored by my dub associate , though :.

Others have felt that a serum (antitoxin), such as immune globulin, containing only a tiny fraction of a donor’s blood plasma and used to bolster their defense against disease, is not the same as a life-sustaining blood transfusion. So their consciences may not forbid them to take immune globulin or similar fractions. [FOOTNOTE: One example is Rh immune globulin, which doctors may recommend when there is Rh incompatibility between a woman and her fetus. Another is Factor VIII, which is given to hemophiliacs.] They may conclude that for them the decision will rest primarily on whether they are willing to accept any health risks involved in an injection made from others’ blood.

For example, clotting factor VIII has been given to hemophiliacs, who bleed easily... Such therapies are not transfusions of those primary components; they usually involve parts or fractions thereof. Should Christians accept these fractions in medical treatment? We cannot say. The Bible does not give details, so a Christian must make his own conscientious decision before God.

Oooh, caught a JW colleague telling porkies at work this week.

there's a jw 'sister' at work, lovely girl in her mid twenties.

anyway, on monday the union (cwu) called a one day strike in support of colleagues and all union members supported the action as far as i'm aware, except the sister.. she claimed it was 'against her religion' to strike.

bare in mind, she's a fee paying member of the union.. now, a few of my workmates know of my past and asked me if this was really true, that jehovah's witnesses aren't allowed to strike.. we'll, i like this girl and i didn't want to make her look silly but what was i supposed to say after i stopped laughing?

an elder told me that he had access to a website online that had all the old bound volumes and books.

also, he made sure to say it was not an apostate website, but a 'legit' website made by brothers.

I remember being in a union was a no no....it was considered too political. That was in the 60's, 70's

probably why they had that QfR in 1961 saying that it was ok to be a member of a union.

Questions From Readers: How should a dedicated Christian Scripturally view labor unions and participation in their activities?
The Scriptures counsel Christians to “provide the right things in the sight of all men.” “Certainly if anyone does not provide for those who are his own, and especially for those who are members of his household, he has disowned the faith and is worse than a person without faith.” These texts have a bearing on labor unionism, because to obey them it may be necessary to join a labor union. An analogy might be drawn between one’s duties as a member of a labor union and those he has as a citizen of a country. For benefits received from the government the Christian pays taxes; similarly, he could properly pay union dues, since such would in effect be job insurance. There can, therefore, be no objection to a Christian’s merely belonging to a labor union, paying the dues and heeding the call to stop work in the event of a strike.—Rom. 12:17; 1 Tim. 5:8.
However, a Christian should not get involved in union activity to the extent of holding an official position in the union. Nor, in the event of a strike, should he take part in picketing or in other ways agitate for the cause of the strike. Above all, he should not engage in violence in labor disputes, for “a slave of the Lord does not need to fight.” “If possible, as far as it depends upon you, be peaceable with all men.” Just as a Christian is neutral regarding politics and wars of his country, so the union member who is a Christian does not get involved in the governing activities and economic warfare of the union but must remain neutral.—2 Tim. 2:24; Rom. 12:18.
