i saw this on reddit:.

overall the numbers are better than last year (1.8% growth compared to 1.5% last year -- as i predicted ;-) ) with an increase in all major figures including 1300 more congregations (i assume this is not physical kingdom halls?).
Over 30 people in the congregation my wife attends have not put in their report for December yet. There are about 110-120 publishers so it's a large proportion. Sure the time of year makes a difference with people ill and away but in the age of excellent communications it says to me people are simply not that bothered.
Actually AFAIK if 75-80 publishers have handed their report in already for December, out of a congregation of 110, that's pretty good - we're only at the 9th of the month, and they have until the 20th of the month before the report is sent to the Branch....
I think what they do is download the video at Bethel or elsewhere where there is internet, then go out and show it to people on the street or in their homes using a tablet with batteries. I have a friend in Congo and that is what they do. They say that the Caleb videos are a hit with the children, as they have never seen cartoons before.
As shown on the front cover picture of the Study Watchtower September 2016 - although this is Fiji shown, presume it's the same principle...

hello everyone!!!.
someone will have some information about the wtl 2016.
yesterday i made a visit to the museum in my city.
the top floor is the planetarium, which has a connecting room with a huge dome ceiling where they project lessons and lectures and you have a 360 view of the night sky etc.. this particular lecture explained about our galaxy, and how it's only one of billions in the universe.
and then we learned about each planet, some of their moons and the sun.
Sounds like the World Museum?
a known poster on this site (anon) says:.
i have just received a text from an elder i've known for decades in my circuit who has some sympathy for my feelings and who is aware of the arc, the uk charity commission, etc., etc.
here it is verbatim, and my reply.
Hey Vidiot
Have you read any UK Child Safeguarding Policy documents, apart from the WTs? It would be interesting to know which ones, if you can please?
Take a look at my earlier post here: https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5153307829993472/_post/5742087918059520
the 2014 - 2015 jw statistics showed a peak publisher decline of 884 with the average publisher tally showing a gain of 183. .
the 2017 yearbook is now available via jw.org and the statistics for britain show a 2016 peak publisher increase of 630 and an average publisher increase of a paltry 26!.
nothing to shout about on the part of the followers of caiaphas in the britain branch.
If they were tracking population increase they should have added at least 17 thousand.
How are you doing the calculation?
Population increased 14% over 20 years
Equivalent JW increase at 14%, to keep track, would mean 142,070
That's just another way of doing my original calculation which used the ratio and got 141,929 (small difference due to calculation rounding?) ?
How do you get 17,000? Do you mean if they where increasing PLUS keeping up / tracking the population?

In real terms, over the last twenty years in Britain, there has been a 5.5% decrease in publisher numbers.
The JWs in Britain would need to have a monthly average of 141,929 publishers reporting to be the same (ie no increase/decrease) publisher-to-population ratio as they where during the 1996 Service Year (instead of the current 134,517 average publishers)

darkspilver that looks more comprehensive. How did you get that information?
No secret, just from jw.org.....
The congregation search facility on jw.org appears to have two 'limiters' on the results you get - a maximum number and a maximum distance:
Firstly it limits any search to a maximum of 100 results
Secondly it limits search results to a maximum distance - from a quick check this appears to be 100 miles
This means that Nicholaus Kopernicus' 'problem' wasn't a max number of results, but a max distance issue
Remember that the search facility is really only meant to find a congregation meeting in a particular language close to a particular point to which you can travel to and attend - so the limits actually seem generous - WT wants the search facility to have a quick response time, so they don't want to overload the backend with more calculations etc being done than is needed in a 'real-world' situation.
Which also means I've found three more Polish congregations in Britain:
48: Bristol, Polish

This high immigration is reflected in the increasing numbers of foreign language groups and congregations in Britain. For example...
Polish - 32
That seems a significant drop post-brexit?
EDIT: I think you've mis-read the jw.org search facility?
